Kasich Super PAC Releases Ad Championing The Will Of The…Delegates

A pro-John Kasich Super PAC advertisement released Tuesday showing Kasich being crowned the Republican nominee says the election isn’t about the “establishment,” but instead delegates.

The ad, released by New Day for America, is from the perspective of the future. “And the GOP nomination for president goes to…John Kasich,” a voiceover says. “What a long fascinating trip it’s been.”

The advertisement continues to say, “running for president isn’t about the establishment, it’s about the delegates and the delegates decided this election was about winning the presidency.”

“In the final hours it came down to 1237 brave Americans, delegates, you who overcame tremendous personal pressure and did the right thing.”

Phyllis Schlafly’s Last Stand: The Inside Story of the Conservative Icon’s Internal Battle for Survival

Allies of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) are now targeting conservative legend Phyllis Schlafly, a leading grassroots anti-establishment voice for half a century, because Schlafly endorsed billionaire businessman Donald Trump for president in the 2016 GOP primary.

Several Cruz supporters inside Eagle Forum are unhappy with Phyllis Schlafly’s Trump endorsement, and have been working behind the scenes against her for months. They have leaked emails, engaged in personal attacks, and even advanced an argument questioning whether the 91-year-old Schlafly is still competent enough to run the organization. Now, several board members of one wing of the tripartite Eagle Forum organization have for the first time in more than four decades of existence called together a special board meeting at which they purported to have voted to remove Schlafly’s handpicked successor as president of the organization and claim to have seized control of the organization and its bank accounts from the longtime activist.

They might not be done yet, as they have another special meeting scheduled for early May at which they intend to—sources say—remove Schlafly herself as chairman of the board. What’s more, Schlafly’s own daughter, Anne Cori, has sided with the other Cruz supporters inside Eagle Forum against her mother, creating a divide inside the family as Phyllis and her other children, including son Andy, back Trump over Cruz in the 2016 primary. Cori admits that her actions run counter to her mother’s wishes, but says she is acting out of “love” for her mother.

For the first time here, the inside story of Schlafly’s battle for survival—including exclusive interviews with her, her daughter who’s working against her, and several of the others involved—will be told. In dueling Breitbart interviews, both Schlafly and Cori detail how painful this has been for both of them—and how it’s torn apart one of America’s leading conservative families.

Cruz Coordinates with Kasich to Block Trump

Top staff from both the Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich presidential campaigns issued separate statements Sunday evening, saying they would be working in concert to prevent GOP frontrunner Donald Trump from securing enough delegates to win a first-round vote at the Republican National convention.

The Cruz campaign released a statement late Sunday saying their campaign would focus their efforts on Indiana, allowing the Kasich campaign to focus on Oregon and New Mexico.

The Kasich campaign likewise released their own statement that asserted they would focus on Oregon and New Mexico, and let Cruz focus on Indiana. The remainder of the states would be fair game for both campaigns, said the Kasich statement.

Cruz Campaign Manager Jeff Roe said on Sunday:

Having Donald Trump at the top of the ticket in November would be a sure disaster for Republicans.  Not only would Trump get blown out by Clinton or Sanders, but having him as our nominee would set the party back a generation. To ensure that we nominate a Republican who can unify the Republican Party and win in November, our campaign will focus its time and resources in Indiana and in turn clear the path for Gov. Kasich to compete in Oregon and New Mexico, and we would hope that allies of both campaigns would follow our lead.  In other states holding their elections for the remainder of the primary season, our campaign will continue to compete vigorously to win.

Donald Trump Won Hispanic Vote in New York City

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump won more than 50 percent of the Hispanic vote in New York City, according to exit polls.

Analysis of the New York Times‘ vote tracker shows Trump won 61 percent in areas with at least a 50 percent Hispanic population.

“It’s an unexpected victory to many political pundits and establishment Republicans who were sure Mr. Trump would [repel] the Hispanic vote through his bombastic statements and immigration plan,” the Washington Times’ Kelly Riddell reports.

According to Riddell, in a poll taken prior to the New York primary, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich were favored over Trump by the Hispanic community.

“New York is Mr. Trump’s home state, and Mr. Cruz’s ‘New York values’ comment could’ve hurt him worse than anyone predicted. But it’s still interesting Mr. Trump pulled out a win with this demographic, and it might mean — despite what the polls are saying and most in the political and punditry class — that he’s not doomed in the general,” Riddell adds.

House Passes Two Bills Designed To Rein In IRS’ Power

Two bills designed to hold the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) accountable for its incompetence passed the House along party lines Wednesday afternoon.

North Carolina Republican Rep. David Rouzer‘s bill, the No Hires for the Delinquent IRS Act, would prevent the agency from hiring employees who have failed to meet their own tax obligations. It passed in a 543-170 vote, with 11 Democrats joining Republicans in voting for the measure.

The IRS Oversight While Eliminating Spending (OWES) Act of 2016, spearheaded by Rep. Jason Smith of Missouri, also made it through the lower chamber in a 245-179 vote. One Democrat, Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas, supported the measure.

The legislation aims to give Congress more oversight power by requiring the agency receive Congressional approval before spending funds are collected through user fees. The IRS would have to deposit fees into a general fund at the Department of Treasury, which is slated to be used to improve services for taxpayers.

Pat Buchanan: Even If Trump Wins, The West Is Doomed

Former presidential candidate and conservative author Pat Buchanan feels his views have been vindicated this election cycle, but his next prediction, if proven right, won’t be a celebratory matter as he sees the death of the western civilization on the horizon.

Buchanan ran in 1992 for the Republican party nomination on a platform opposing globalization, unfettered immigration, and the move away from social conservatism. He has been harping on these views ever since.

“What we’ve gotten is proof that we were right,” Buchanan told The Daily Caller Tuesday. While he said, “I would not say that Donald Trump is a paleoconservative,” and, “I don’t think [Trump’s] a social conservative.”

Buchanan told TheDC, “I was just astonished to see him raise the precise issues on which we ran in the 1990s… Donald Trump has raised three issues of real concern to paleoconservatives and traditional conservatives like myself.”

Is the GOP Risking Suicide?

Donald Trump has brought out the largest crowds in the history of primaries. He has won the most victories, the most delegates, the most votes. He is poised to sweep three of the five largest states in the nation — New York, Pennsylvania and California.

If he does, and the nomination is taken from him, the Republican Party will be seen by the American people as a glorified Chinese tong.

Last week, Ted Cruz swept 34 delegates at the Colorado party convention. Attendees were not allowed to vote on whom they wanted as the party’s nominee.

This weekend, Cruz shut out Trump in Wyoming the same way.

What does this tell us? Cruz has a better “ground game.” His operatives work the system better. Ted Cruz is the king of small ball.

But having gone head-to-head in some 30 primaries and caucuses, Cruz has fallen millions of votes behind Trump, and will fall millions further behind after New York, Pennsylvania and California.

Trump Campaign: Cruz Staged ‘Attack’ In Georgia To Steal Delegates…’Not Grassroots Activism’

The Donald Trump campaign is accusing the Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)  campaign of staging a coordinated “attack” in Georgia that led to pro-Trump delegate candidates being challenged and deposed in every corner of the state, which Trump had won resoundingly in the primary.

“Private backroom nominations committees producing ‘recommended’ slates, county delegations voting in blocs, floor motions made targeting our supporters,” Trump national delegate director Brian Jack claimed, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News. “This is the machine politics we read about in school, not the grassroots activism our campaign encourages.”

Trump supporters walked out of the district convention in Buford Saturday after a Cruz-Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)  alliance bumped all of the potential Trump delegates off that district’s slate. But the chaos in Buford happened everywhere at Saturday’s district conventions, with Cruz supporters isolating and targeting pro-Trump delegate candidates in order to reverse Georgia’s votes on a potential second ballot at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July.

“Within an hour I knew this had happened all over the state of Georgia,” Thomas Deen, senior data analyst for the Trump campaign in Georgia, told Breitbart News. “I am aware of instances in all fourteen of our congressional districts.”

‘New York Values’: The Post Endorses Trump

Donald Trump is a rookie candidate — a potential superstar of vast promise, but making rookie mistakes. The nominee Republicans need for the fall campaign is often hard to make out amid his improvisations and too-harsh replies to his critics.

New Yorkers vote Tuesday. What to do?

Here’s how we see it.

Should he win the nomination, we expect Trump to pivot — not just on the issues, but in his manner. The post-pivot Trump needs to be more presidential: better informed on policy, more self-disciplined and less thin-skinned.

Yet the promise is clearly there in the rookie who is, after all, leading the field as the finals near.

Trump has electrified the public, drawing millions of new voters to the polls and inspiring people who’d given up on ever again having a candidate who’d fight for them.

That’s the work of the Donald Trump we know — a New Yorker, born and bred.

This Feisty Nonprofit Could Be Hillary’s Biggest Problem To Win The White House

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth confirmed Judicial Watch’s central role in exposing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email address and a home-brew server to conduct official business when he granted limited discovery to the conservative government watchdog March 29.

Judicial Watch could hold an even more influential role if it is able to uncover additional information surrounding the scandals through this discovery process — a legal device litigants use to gain pre-trial evidence under oath from an adverse witness.

Lamberth’s decision was the latest step in litigation that began March 17, 2015, with a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Department of State for documents concerning public statements made by Obama administration officials in the immediate aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Discovery was necessary, Lamberth ruled, because “where there is evidence of government wrong-doing and bad faith, as here, limited discovery is appropriate, even though it is exceedingly rare in FOIA cases.”

Roger Stone: Trump Delegates Should Sign a Loyalty Pledge

When I called for Trump supporters to button-hole so-called Trojan Horse Trump delegates in their convention hotels and engage in a dialog with them last week, all hell broke loose.

CNN and Megyn Kelly both took my comments out of context to imply I was calling for violence in Cleveland. As a veteran of the 1968 Nixon campaign, I remember vividly how violence destroyed the campaign of Hubert Humphrey. The Soros-backed professional agitators expected to descend on Cleveland will be trying to incite violence must be ignored by Trump supporters at all costs. Violence would be counterproductive to Trump’s general election drive.

If either CNN or Ms. Kelly had played my entire interview rather than selectively editing it, or any one of the interviews I did they day, they would know I specifically renounced violence while urging an intense “dialog “to press those delegates — who were elected as Trump delegates but were inserted as quislings by the party bosses — not to betray Trump on a second ballot.

These “Trump” delegates give the anti-Trump forces a majority on questions of rules, credentials, and platform — all of which must be ratified or rejected by the full convention before the First ballot for President. This is where the big steal will take place.

Cruz Attacks Matt Drudge

Sen. Ted Cruz claims that Roger Stone, The Daily Caller Men’s Fashion editor, “decides” what Matt Drudge posts on his website Drudge Report.

In an interview with Mike Slater on “The Mike Slater Show” Monday, Cruz said, “If people want to get on the “Trump train,” they can. I actually think we need real and meaningful solutions to the problems in this country, and as president my focus is going to be on three things: jobs, freedom and security.” (RELATED: GOP Establishment Money Funding Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Erick Erickson To Attack Trump)

Slater asked Cruz what he thought of the Drudge Report and the Texas senator replied, “Look, Drudge Report over the years has done a good job highlighting the excesses of the left and the excesses of liberalism, and about the past month the Drudge Report has basically become the attack site for the Donald Trump campaign.”

“And so every day they have the latest Trump attack. They’re directed at me. It — by all appearances, Roger Stone now decides what’s on Drudge, and most days they have a six-month-old article that is some attack on me, and it’s — whatever the Trump campaign is pushing that day will be the banner headline on Drudge.”

Colorado GOP Deletes #NeverTrump Tweet After Ted Cruz Sweeps Delegates

A person posted “We did it. #NeverTrump” from the Colorado GOP’s Twitter account minutes after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) swept 34 Colorado delegates on Saturday.

According to ABC 7, the tweet was quickly deleted and a subsequent tweet said that the previous one had been posted by a person “with unauthorized access to our account.”

The last tweet was the result of unauthorized access to our account and in no way represents the opinion of the party. We are investigating.

“We are doing an investigation right now to find out how it got out because we would never do that,” stated Colorado Republican Party Chairman Steve House. “There’s no point in trying to disenfranchise a campaign [Donald Trump’s] that we supported while they were here, and there’s no way anybody on my staff — certainly not me — would ever put that out.”

Can the GOP Get Together in Cleveland?

After winning only six delegates in Wisconsin, and with Ted Cruz poaching delegates in states he has won, like Louisiana, Donald Trump either wins on the first ballot at Cleveland, or Trump does not win.

Yet, as that huge, roaring reception he received in his first post-Wisconsin appearance in Bethpage, N.Y., testifies, the Donald remains not only the front-runner, but the most exciting figure in the race.

Moreover, after the New York, New England, mid-Atlantic and California primaries, Trump should be within striking distance of the 1,237 delegates needed for the nomination.

He will then have to persuade uncommitted delegates to back him, and perhaps do a deal with one of the defeated candidates, Marco Rubio or John Kasich, to win the remaining few needed to go over the top.

In 1976, Ronald Reagan, shy of the delegates he needed to defeat President Ford, offered second place on his ticket to Sen. Richard Schweiker, a moderate from Pennsylvania.

This brainstorm of Reagan campaign manager John Sears did not produce the required delegates, and Reagan received an envelope from a conservative Congressman with 30 dimes in it — 30 pieces of silver.

Panama Papers Fallout Finally Wafts Over US Banking

The Department of the Treasury is expected to move on a rule proposed in 2014 requiring banks to look into the identities of those who hold shell company accounts in the wake of the release of the Panama Papers.

The leak of more than 11.5 million confidential documents from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca exposes a number of the world leaders involved in legally dubious offshore financial deals. In the outpour of information, which was reviewed by around 100 news agencies over the course of a year, it was discovered just over 14o politicians and members of their inner circles were linked with offshore shell companies and banks to dodge taxes.

The New York Times reports the regulation is designed to close a loophole allowing “secretive financial maneuvers” in the U.S. banking system.

Under current policy, the names of company heads can be obscured as identities are not required when limited liability corporations are registered with certain states. The change would force institutions to identify each individual who owns 25 percent or more of the equity interests.

“The proposed rules would contain explicit customer due diligence requirements and would include a new regulatory requirement to identify beneficial owners of legal entity customers, subject to certain exemptions,” the rule reads. “Such changes will enhance financial transparency and safeguard the financial system against illicit use. Requiring financial institutions to perform effective CDD so that they know their customers—both who they are and what transactions they conduct—is a critical aspect of combating all forms of illicit financial activity, from terrorist financing and sanctions evasion to more traditional financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, and tax evasion.”

Any One Of These Four Laws Could Put Hillary, Aides In Jail

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and key aides are vulnerable to three felony charges and one misdemeanor count under the Espionage Act because of the unauthorized transfer of classified documents to her private email server, former national security and law enforcement officials tell The Daily Caller News Foundation.

As many as 150 FBI agents are deployed on the case and FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Loretta Lynch are reportedly meeting twice weekly to discuss the progress of the investigation.

The FBI is reportedly in the “final stages” of its probe and working closely with members of the Department of Justice’s National Security Division to decide if a prosecution goes forward.

On Jan. 14, I. Charles McCullough III, inspector general for the intelligence community, revealed of the 1,000 classified documents found on Clinton’s server, about two dozen are Top Secret and SAP materials. SAP documents are higher than the Top Secret classification and contain the nation’s most sensitive secrets.

Former law enforcement and intelligence officials contacted by TheDCNF agree if there is wrongdoing, it is likely prosecutors will focus on the classified documents.

The most serious charges are felonies cited in Title 18 of the U.S. Code of the Espionage Act in sections 793, 798 and 1001. Experts contacted by TheDCNF say these could serve as the foundation for any criminal prosecution of Clinton or her aides.

Supreme Court rules in redistricting case: Illegal immigrants can be counted

A unanimous Supreme Court ruled Monday that illegal immigrants and other noncitizens can be counted when states draw their legislative districts, shooting down a challenge by Texas residents who said their own voting power was being diluted.

The ruling does not grant noncitizens the power to vote, but says the principle of one person, one vote doesn’t require localities to only count those who are actually eligible to vote when they are deciding how many people to put inside of each district.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, writing for the court, said even though only eligible voters are supposed to cast ballots, elected officials represent all people within their districts, and it is that act of representation, not the election itself, that the boundaries are drawn to.

“As the Framers of the Constitution and the Fourteenth Amendment comprehended, representatives serve all residents, not just those eligible or registered to vote,” she wrote. “Nonvoters have an important stake in many policy debates — children, their parents, even their grandparents, for example, have a stake in a strong public-education system — and in receiving constituent services, such as help navigating public-benefits bureaucracies.”

Comey And ‘A Lot Of Other FBI Agents’ Will Resign If Hillary Is Not Indicted

Clinton author Ed Klein says that if Hillary Clinton is not indicted, FBI Director James Comey and “a lot of other FBI agents” would resign as well in protest.

In an interview with Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co” on Friday, Klein said, “I think Comey realizes that he’s got to wrap this [investigation] up well before the conventions otherwise he’s going to disenfranchise millions and millions of people. So I think this is going to be wrapped up in around six more weeks.”

Klein said that he thinks Clinton will get indicted but “Hillary has her lawyers talking to the Justice Department about a lesser charge, something in which she would just say, ‘Well, I’m sorry. It was a little sloppy, I shouldn’t have done that.”

In that case, Clinton “would be let off.” However, Klein said that he didn’t think that scenario would occur.

Host Stuart Varney responded, “That wouldn’t happen? Because that would be a way around the political problem of indicting the likely Democrat nominee for the presidency.”

“Right, but James Comey is after all… the Eliot Ness of our time. He is really not going to let politics interfere with what he finally decides.”

Lock Out the Establishment in Cleveland!

The Wisconsin primary could be an axle-breaking speed bump on Donald Trump’s road to the nomination.

Ted Cruz, now the last hope to derail Trump of a desperate Beltway elite that lately loathed him, has taken the lead in the Badger State.

Millions in attack ads are being dumped on the Donald’s head by super PACs of GOP candidates, past and present. Gov. Scott Walker has endorsed Cruz. Conservative talk radio is piling on Trump.

And the Donald just had the worst two weeks of his campaign.

There was that unseemly exchange with Cruz about their wives. Then came the pulling of the woman reporter’s arm by campaign chief Corey Lewandowski, an atrocity being likened by the media to the burning of Joan of Arc.

Then there was Trump’s suggestion, instantly withdrawn, that if abortion is outlawed, then women who undergo abortions may face some punishment.

This gaffe told us nothing we did not know. New to elective politics, Trump is less familiar with the ideological and issues terrain than those who live there. But the outrage of the elites is all fakery.
