EPA’s Top Enforcer Gives SHOCKING Answer On Why Agency Not Punished For Gold King Mine Blowout

Environmental Protection Agency’s enforcement arm told lawmakers no one at the agency would be punished for spilling 3 million gallons of toxic mine waste in Colorado.

Why? Because EPA only released pollution from Gold King Mine into the Animas River, they didn’t create the mine waste.

“Why has nobody in EPA been held liable, been criminally charged?” Alaska Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan pressed Cynthia Giles, the head of EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, in a Wednesday hearing.

“We were acting as a responder,” Giles said, noting federal law distinguished “the company who makes and releases pollution” from “entities that are trying to respond and clean up pollution that other people created.”

Obama’s DOJ to ‘Look Into’ Challenging SCOTUS on Executive Amnesty

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is looking into options to challenge a Supreme Court ruling that effectively determined a lower court’s decision neutering President Obama’s executive amnesty would stand. The ruling would help to prevent Obama from ignoring U.S. laws and from allowing many illegal aliens to stay in the U.S. without deportation.

The statements from Attorney General Lynch were made during an interview with Reuters. The Reuters writer appears to have confused the ruling, as SCOTUS did not make the decision to block President Obama’s executive amnesty, they simply tied in their decision–which led to the Fifth Circuit’s ruling being left in place.

The Obama administration is looking into whether it can challenge the Supreme Court’s decision to block President Barack Obama’s plan to spare millions of illegal immigrants from deportation, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Tuesday.

“We will be reviewing the case and seeing what, if anything else, we need to do in court,” Lynch told Reuters in an interview.

Breitbart Texas’ legal analyst, Lana Shadwick, discussed the ruling in a recent article. She wrote:

The executive amnesty order issued was stalled by a 4-4 vote in United States v. Texas, et al. leaving the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s ruling. When a decision is tied, it leaves the lower court decision in place. The next president’s appointment of a new Supreme Court justice could tip the balance in favor of allowing a president to bypass Congress and implement his or her own immigration law.

Stephen Miller: Hillary Clinton a Corrupt ‘Economic Globalist’ Who Enriches Herself by ‘Selling Out America’

During his appearance on Breitbart News Sunday, Stephen Miller, senior policy adviser to Donald Trump, finds Big Media’s coverage of the Brexit vote as unsatisfactory as its coverage of the U.S. presidential campaign. He cited CNN’s coverage of Trump’s major speech last week as an example.

“Mr. Trump did a speech recently, laying out some of the most important facts from the book Clinton Cash, and also drawing some linkages between Hillary Clinton’s Wall Street ties and some of her trade decisions,” Miller told SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon. “I think that CNN has an obligation to talk about what these trade deals have done to our working class, and to make Hillary Clinton answer for her support for NAFTA, her support for China, her support for normalizing trade relations with Vietnam, her support for the TPP, her support for the Korean deal, her support for the Columbia deal — shall I go on?”

“Now, on the point about Brexit, the people of Britain, as Mr. Trump said, have chosen to declare their independence — to reassert control over their trade deals, over their immigration policies, and over all domestic procedures. And now he’s calling on Americans to do the same thing for their own country,” Miller continued.

Noting that the Trump campaign has been meeting with evangelical leaders, Bannon asked if religious conservatives have lost most of their influence in Washington because “there are many evangelicals out there that just decided, hey, I don’t want to get involved politics.”

“The evangelical movement in America has been, arguably, one of the most engaged political communities that we have,” Miller replied. “And oftentimes up against really extraordinary odds — a media class that mocks and demeans people of faith, and a political class that is not attuned to their concerns, and often pushes an agenda counter to their concerns. Obviously, a good example of that would be ObamaCare.”

Sharyl Attkisson is Right: Mexican Cartels Have Infiltrated U.S. Military, Federal Agencies

Veteran journalist extraordinaire Sharyl Attkisson made the shocking assertion that Mexican cartels have infiltrated the U.S. military and U.S. law enforcement agencies–and she is correct. Her assertion is backed up by years of Breitbart Texas reports showing that some U.S. soldiers have worked for cartel efforts to smuggle humans and drugs and that far too many in U.S. federal law enforcement agencies have fallen into working for Mexican cartels.
Attkisson’s assertion was made on Breitbart News Daily to host Stephen K. Bannon. She stated on the June 24, 2016 show:

On the other hand, I think about the military guys, and they may think, is this a victimless crime? It’s really not illegal to come to this country. The two Mexicans they had been transporting last week had each been removed from the US three times before. And maybe they think, why shouldn’t I make some money on the side doing something the government doesn’t really mind. They don’t mind if the illegal immigrants come here.

I think they know about it. And it’s people inside Border Patrol and inside the military who have long been involved in smuggling drugs, as well as smuggling humans. They’re well aware of it. They don’t talk about it much but it’s well known inside. I’ll be doing a story in the Fall about corruption inside the Border Patrol which is just out of control. There’s so many agents. The cartels place people inside Border Patrol now, smugglers place people inside Border Patrol get them hired there. It’s a big issue.

As Breitbart Texas previously reported, FBI Director James Comey discussed a public corruption task force created particularly for border officials. “The color of of corruption is green,” Comey said at the time.

Obama: SCOTUS Ruling Doesn’t Change My ‘Priorities’ — I’m Still Not Deporting Most Illegals

On Thursday morning, Supreme Court upheld an injunction on Obama’s 2014 Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents policy by a 4-4 split vote.

The executive order would have granted work permits and legal status to millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States.

“What was unaffected by today’s ruling, or lack of a ruling, is the enforcement priorities that we’ve put in place,” the president stated. “Our enforcement priorities have been laid out by Secretary Jeh Johnson and the Department of Homeland Security are pretty clear.”

“We prioritize criminals, we prioritize gang-bangers, we prioritize folks who have just come in,” he explained. “What we don’t do is prioritize people who have been here a long time, who are otherwise law-abiding, who have roots and connection of their communities, so those enforcement priorities will continue.”

Trump Goes After Hillary’s ‘I’m With Her’ Slogan: ‘I’m With You, The American People’

Speaking from Trump SoHo in New York City on Wednesday, the presumptive Republican nominee said, “God, help us” if Clinton is elected president.

“Together, she and Bill made $153 million giving speeches to lobbyists, CEOs and foreign governments in the years since 2001,” Trump said. “They totally own her, and that will never ever change, including if she ever became president — God, help us.”

“The choice in this election is a choice between taking our government back from the special interests, or surrendering really the last scrap of independence to thE total and complete control of people like the Clintons. Those are the stakes,” he said.

“Hillary Clinton wants to be president. But she doesn’t have the temperament, or, as Bernie Sanders’ said very strongly, the judgment, to be president,” Trump said.

Trump said that the former secretary of state “believes she is entitled to the office.”

Feds Obstruct Media Probe By Blocking Interviews With Key Officials

An Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) public relations official is blocking interviews sought by The Daily Caller News Foundation with employees believed to have vital information about the federal government’s $1 billion Superfund program.

Agency spokeswoman Mollie Lemon acknowledged a May 16 DCNF request to interview an EPA contracting official, but the interview never happened, despite repeated requests during the ensuing four-week email exchange.

Lemon stopped acknowledging the requests two days after the original DCNF email, thus effectively denying it by default.

TheDCNF is seeking information on how EPA tracks numerous aspects concerning contracts for the EPA’s Superfund program – an extremely complex operation that typically is only understood by officials working within the contracting office.

Trolling for War with Russia

Some 50 State Department officials have signed a memo calling on President Obama to launch air and missile strikes on the Damascus regime of Bashar Assad.

A “judicious use of stand-off and air weapons,” they claim, “would undergird and drive a more focused and hard-nosed U.S.-led diplomatic process.”

In brief, to strengthen the hand of our diplomats and show we mean business, we should start bombing and killing Syrian soldiers.

Yet Syria has not attacked us. And Congress has not declared war on Syria, or authorized an attack. Where do these State hawks think President Obama gets the authority to launch a war on Syria?

Does State consider the Constitution to be purely advisory when it grants Congress the sole power to declare war? Was not waging aggressive war the principal charge against the Nazis at Nuremberg?

Report: IRS Spent $11 Million On Guns, Ammo In The Past 10 Years

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) seems to be building an army.

The IRS spent nearly $11 million on guns, ammunition and “military-style equipment” between 2006 and 2014, according to a new report. IRS investment in heavy firearms and tactical gear is a new trend for the agency, but it follows a pattern of militarization repeated throughout the executive branch of the government.

In “The Militarization of America,” a report by OpenTheBooks.com, examines the kinds of weapons and tactical equipment federal agencies have purchased over the past ten years. The report shows that the IRS and other non-law enforcement agencies rapidly increased purchases of military gear in the past decade.

The amount the IRS spends on weapons and equipment has risen since 2006 from around half a million to $1,070,456 in 2014. Purchases of guns and ammunition spiked in 2011 to more than $2 million, according to the report. Over the same period, the number of special agents the IRS employed declined from more than 3,000 to just about 2,000 in 2014.

Congressional Democrats Meet To Discuss ‘Right-Wing Domestic Terrorism’

House Democrats held a meeting Wednesday to discuss the threat of “violent extremism on America’s public lands,” just a few days after a Muslim man shot up a gay nightclub in the name of the Islamic State.

Democrats alleged the GOP is not doing enough to prevent “violent extremism on America’s public lands,” The Washington Post first reported. They convened the meeting to discuss Republicans’ decision to opt out of holding a hearing on armed militia who occupied Malheur National Wildlife Refuge for roughly 40 days starting in January.

The minority party slammed Republicans, saying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation was the latest of “violent threats” to government land in a letter written to House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop in April.

The Oregon siege – led by Ammon Bundy and Ryan Bundy, the sons of Cliven Bundy, who was involved in an armed standoff in Nevada with the Bureau of Land Management over cattle grazing rules in 2014 – which ended after four militants surrendered in February follow two members being shot by the FBI, killing LaVoy Finicum, was in protest of the BLM land-use regulations.

MEMO RECEIVED BY CLINTON: Obama Admin Aided Group That Became ISIS to Control Area Where ISIS Formed Caliphate

The Obama administration supported the terrorist group that became ISIS as the group struggled to gain control of the Syria-Iraq border where ISIS now claims its caliphate, according to an intelligence report sent to Hillary Clinton.

Breitbart News reported Tuesday on a “Secret” classified intelligence report sent to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other top U.S. officials and agencies in August 2012. The report confirmed that Western and Gulf states were joining with Turkey to “support” the Syrian opposition to dictator Bashar al Assad. The report confirmed that the Syrian opposition was being led by three groups, including Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), which later became ISIS. The report confirmed that AQI was communicating through spokesman Muhammad al Adnani, who is now the chief spokesman for ISIS.

Western and Gulf states and Turkey helped these Syrian opposition groups to control the Syria-Iraq border, according to the report. ISIS later violently formed its caliphate in the areas around that border. The report noted the potential for “safe havens under international sheltering” in this region similar to the situation in Libya, where the temporary government that formed after the U.S.-aided overthrow of Muammar Gadaffi established a “command center” at Benghazi.

The intelligence report goes into detail about how the West was actively helping opposition groups including AQI to control the eastern border of Syria near the Iraqi province of Anbar and the city of Mosul, both of which eventually fell in part to al Adnani’s group the Islamic State (ISIS), which continues to fight to hold control of the territory.

DHS Secretary: Right-Wingers Pose Same Threat As Islamic Extremists

One month after the San Bernardino terrorist attack that left 14 innocent people dead, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told advisors that right wing extremists pose just as much of a threat to the country as Islamic extremists.

Johnson made the comments during the Homeland Security Advisory Council’s (HSAC) January meeting. City of Austin Mayor Art Acevedo, whom Johnson appointed to HSAC, shifted the discussion to the threat of right-wing extremists, according to the official meeting minutes.

“Member Acevedo reminded the Council that the threat from right-wing extremists domestically is just as real as the threat from Islamic extremism,” the minutes state.

Johnson echoed the sentiment. “Secretary Johnson agreed and noted that CVE [Subcommittee on Combating Violent Extremism], by definition, is not solely focused on one religion,” the minutes state.

It Looks Like Congress Is Poised To Fire DOZENS Of Generals

The 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) as summarized by the Senate Armed Services Committee proposes a 25 percent reduction in Generals and Admirals across the board.

A summary of the bill provided by the committee states the drawdown in general officers also applies at the 3, 2, and 1 star levels. The committee reasons that “Over the past 30 years, the end-strength of the joint force has decreased 38 percent, but the ratio of four-star officers to the overall force has increased by 65 percent.”

Senator Tim Kaine expressed concern over the reduction in general officers, telling Military.com, “Twenty-five percent was the number that was pulled out of thin air.” The NDAA states that the 25 percent number was upon only by “careful consideration of the existing size of the general and flag officer corps in each service, as well as its unique requirements.”

The bill summary explains that by making heavy cuts at the three and four star level, it can “allow the services a broader base to develop future leaders.” The summary also cites budget concerns as a reason for the reduction, saying the Pentagon must proactively work to “shift as many personnel as possible from staff functions to operational and other vital roles.”

La Raza Council Cancels Pro-Muslim, Anti-Trump Event After Massive Terrorist Attack

A coalition of civil rights groups planned to hold an event Monday attacking Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for his rhetoric against Mexicans and Muslims, but cancelled it after 50 people were killed and at least 53 more wounded in a reported Islamic terrorist attack Sunday.

The event was supposed to include leaders from several top rights groups including National Council of La Raza and Muslim Advocates, an advocacy group founded by American Muslim lawyers. The groups said in a press release promoting the event they planned to condemn Trump for “demonizing” certain groups and would demand an apology. The event was scheduled to be held at the National Council of La Raza in Washington, D.C.

An email was sent out Sunday saying, “Given the tragedy in Orlando this event has been canceled. Our hearts and prayers are with the families of the victims.”

Shooter Omar Mateen reportedly called 911 to declare his allegiance to Islamic State before opening fire on an Orlando gay nightclub early Sunday morning.

Emails in Clinton Probe Dealt With Planned Drone Strikes

At the center of a criminal probe involving Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information is a series of emails between American diplomats in Islamabad and their superiors in Washington about whether to oppose specific drone strikes in Pakistan.

The 2011 and 2012 emails were sent via the “low side’’—government slang for a computer system for unclassified matters—as part of a secret arrangement that gave the State Department more of a voice in whether a Central Intelligence Agency drone strike went ahead, according to congressional and law-enforcement officials briefed on the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe.

Some of the emails were then forwarded by Mrs. Clinton’s aides to her personal email account, which routed them to a server she kept at her home in suburban New York when she was secretary of state, the officials said. Investigators have raised concerns that Mrs. Clinton’s personal server was less secure than State Department systems.

The vaguely worded messages didn’t mention the “CIA,” “drones” or details about the militant targets, officials said.

The still-secret emails are a key part of the FBI investigation that has long dogged Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, these officials said.

The Bill and Hillary Show

Last week was a typical wallow in Clinton excess. Bill spoke at Union County College in New Jersey. He said that “white, non-college-educated Americans need to be brought along to the future” and stop trying to “reclaim the past.” It was a familiar bit of racist condescension, making clear that in the mind of the Clintons the Trump supporters are backward and not very smart, and it was only lacking key words like “redneck” or “white trash” to make the point more emphatic. It was a sneer worthy of Barack Obama’s dismissal of flyover America’s connections to guns and Bibles or Hillary’s putdown of women who choose to stay at home to raise their children and “bake cookies or do teas.” The future that Bill foresees, as he made clear in his speech, is “an inclusive, non-divisive America — an America that is oriented towards our future greatness, not trying to reclaim a past that is past and gone.” It is, in short, an America that needs to abandon its own culture and values in exchange for a globalism and multiculturalism that has worked so well in many places, just ask the Europeans. Or better still ask the Clintons, who have become very, very rich off it.

So the Clintons see their future tied to a mishmash of a country that is, a possible contradiction in terms, both “inclusive” and “diverse,” which will keep them and their like in power for the foreseeable future as opposed to a nation guided by citizens yearning for a “past” in which Americans were safe in their communities, sent their kids to good schools and had well-compensated jobs with health and pension benefits. Normally I would respond “So what?” as a Bill Clinton vision is inevitably some kind of pander, but the real danger of a Hillary in power comes with her consistently belligerent view of America’s role in the world, her own track record while in office, and her apparent willingness to create international conflicts where none are called for. Though Hillary is not so insane as to want to risk a nuclear war, she embraces policies that incrementally increase tension with Russia and could easily produce one. In that respect, she is far more dangerous than either Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders.

Hillary’s foreign policy speech delivered in San Diego California last Thursday was in part a bowdlerized and embellished synopsis of her record but it was more than that a political statement. It was delivered in front of a massed array of American flags to a carefully selected audience, full of sound bites and laugh lines that will no doubt be excerpted and turned into campaign material. The speech was intended to highlight her “experience” vis-à-vis Bernie Sanders (who hopefully will trounce her in California today) and to dismiss Donald Trump as unfocused, ill-informed and dangerous: so “thin-skinned” that he might start a nuclear war on a whim. Even though the version of Hillary-confronts-the world is largely nonsense, it is inevitably being heralded by neoconservatives and the mainstream media, all fearful that either Bernie or The Donald will be elected and put an end to the corrupt and self-serving status quo.

White House Lies About Scrubbing Press Briefing Transcript

“Can you state categorically that no senior official in this administration has ever lied publicly about any aspect of the Iran nuclear deal?”

That question to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was asked by Fox News reporter Kevin Corke during the White House Press Briefing on May 9, 2016.

“No Kevin,” Earnest replied, followed by about five seconds of silence.

The awkward exchange was not reflected on the White House public record of the press briefing, scrubbing Earnest’s embarrassing moment.

The Donald & The La Raza Judge

Before the lynching of The Donald proceeds, what exactly was it he said about that Hispanic judge?

Stated succinctly, Donald Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over a class-action suit against Trump University, is sticking it to him. And the judge’s bias is likely rooted in the fact that he is of Mexican descent.

Can there be any defense of a statement so horrific?

Just this. First, Trump has a perfect right to be angry about the judge’s rulings and to question his motives. Second, there are grounds for believing Trump is right.

On May 27, Curiel, at the request of The Washington Post, made public plaintiff accusations against Trump University — that the whole thing was a scam. The Post, which Bob Woodward tells us has 20 reporters digging for dirt in Trump’s past, had a field day.

And who is Curiel?

Clinton Cash: Bernie Sanders Hits Hillary Clinton on Foreign Contributions to Clinton Foundation

The troubling relationships between the Clintons and foreign governments were brought to light by Breitbart’s Peter Schweizer in his book, Clinton Cash, and are also the subject of the recently premiered documentary by the same name. Sanders has largely refrained from using the information as a line of attack until his interview with Tapper Sunday.

Jake Tapper: “You have not been critical of the Clinton foundation, but there are those who say that there is something inherently wrong with an American charity, especially one with ties to a Secretary of State, taking money from the Saudis and other foreign governments that don’t represent our values, is that a fair criticism?”

Senator Sanders: “Yes it is, it is. If you ask me about the Clinton Foundation — do I have a problem when a sitting Secretary of State and a foundation run by her husband collects many millions of dollars from foreign governments, governments which are dictatorships, you don’t have a lot of civil liberties with democratic rights in Saudi Arabia. You don’t have a lot of respect there for divergent opposition points of view, for gay rights, for women rights. Do I have a problem with that? Yeah, I do.”

Jake Tapper: “Do you think it creates an appearance of conflict of interest?”

Senator Sanders: “Yeah, I do, I do.”

Reince Priebus: ‘People Involved’ with Bill Kristol’s Independent ‘Never Trump’ Candidate David French ‘Embarrassing Themselves’ on ‘Suicide Mission’

Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Reince Priebus quickly put down efforts by Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol to launch an independent bid for president from National Review columnist David French on Thursday morning.

Appearing on Hugh Hewitt’s radio program, the GOP’s chief official said that those “involved” with pushing an independent bid from French are “embarrassing themselves” with a “silly” endeavor that is basically a “suicide mission.” While they did not name Kristol, or 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney—who tweeted tacit support for French the night of reports that Kristol’s candidate is French—it’s clear that Priebus was talking about them.

“I don’t really know him,” Priebus said of French when Hewitt asked about it. He added:

I think it’s a little bit of a…Look, I don’t want to say anything disparaging against the guy because I don’t know him, and I’m sure he’s a good person, but I think it’s also just a sort of suicide mission and a huge distraction. I don’t see it going anywhere. I think in order to be a viable third party candidate I think you have to have national name ID and a ton of cash in order to get even a blip on the radar. So I don’t really even think about it, Hugh. I think it’s sort of silly, to tell you the truth. I have to say—I think the people involved with it are embarrassing themselves.

State Dept. Official Took ‘Deliberate Steps’ To Delete Video From Iran Press Briefing

An official within the State Department ordered the editing of a damning portion of video from a Dec. 2013 daily press briefing discussing negotiations between the Obama administration and Iran, an agency spokesman acknowledged on Wednesday.

State Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters that a public affairs official placed a phone call on Dec. 3, 2013, the same day as the daily press briefing, ordering the removal of video showing Fox News reporter James Rosen asking then-State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki whether anyone inside the Obama administration has misled the American public about the Iran negotiations.

At a press briefing in 2012, Rosen had asked Psaki’s predecessor, Victoria Nuland, whether nuclear negotiations with Iran were being held. Nuland said they were not. Psaki provided a cryptic answer in response to Rosen’s question.

“James, I think there are times where diplomacy needs privacy in order to progress. This is a good example of that,” she said.

Democratic Law Prof: ‘Difficult To Imagine’ Hillary Clinton Not Being Indicted

A Democrat law professor and former Department of Justice official with decades of experience in government secrecy says “it is difficult to imagine” Hillary Clinton not being indicted.

Dan Metcalfe dealt with information disclosure issues for more than 25 years as Director of the Justice Department’s Office of Information and Privacy, including during the Clinton administration. He now teaches secrecy law at American University’s Washington College of Law. He wrote in a Sunday column in LawNewz that “given that the facts and law are so clear in Ms. Clinton’s case, it is difficult to imagine her not being indicted” unless the White House or a top DOJ official intervenes.

For those of us who recognized from the outset that Ms. Clinton’s exclusive use of a personal email system for all her official business (not to mention her unprecedented use of a private server atop that) was a clear violation of the Federal Records Act (‘FRA’), the findings of the State Department’s Inspector General (‘IG’) to that effect in his May 25 report were no surprise.  In fact, on the admitted facts of the case, no other conclusion was possible, and it was simply another ‘shoe waiting to be dropped.’

Metcalfe describes himself as a “registered Democrat who has long said that he will vote for Hillary Clinton in November” if she gets the nomination and does not get indicted. He goes on in the column to refute Hillary’s many arguments defending her email use.
