Hillary Clinton wants to revoke the licenses of non-compliant gun dealers.
Gun dealers worry this means they could be shut down for clerical errors on required paperwork.
In response to a questionnaire given to the International Association of Chiefs of Police Hillary Clinton referenced a Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco and Firearm statistic that says many gun dealers do not follow federal gun laws but few have their licenses revoked.
“New York has no control over another state’s gun laws, so it has to depend on the federal government to enforce federal firearms laws against irresponsible gun dealers across the country. It’s important to note that the vast majority of gun owners and gun dealers are responsible,” Clinton stated.
“But a few bad actors are responsible for supplying the vast majority guns used in crimes — and we need to shut them down,” Clinton continued. “Indeed, nearly 90 percent of guns recovered on crime scenes in America come from just 5 percent of gun dealers in America. We know who these bad actors are. But we rarely revoke a gun dealer’s license, even if they break the law.”
She added, “According to recent statistics, the ATF found that about one in three gun dealers were not compliant with federal gun laws. Yet, less than 1 percent of these stores had their licenses revoked. We need federal action on guns, and shutting down the major suppliers of illegal guns will be one of my priorities as president.”

Hillary’s Closest Aides Call Her Email Policy ‘Outrageous,’ ‘Unbelievable’
Three months into her term as secretary of state, two of Hillary Clinton’s top aides bluntly called her indiscriminate release of her private email address “outrageous” and “unbelievable,” according to an April 2009 email chain obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The email indicates that very early into her term as the country’s top diplomat, Clinton’s two closest aides were scandalized by their boss’ indifference towards email security.
“This is so unbelievable, she should not be giving her email to everyone,” said a frustrated Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills in an April 3, 2009, email exchange with Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin.
“Don’t get me started,” stated Abedin. “Personally, I think it’s outrageous.”
The blunt talk by her closest aides casts embarrassing new light on the issue of Clinton’s cavalier attitude about email and government information security in the aftermath of FBI Director James Comey’s recent refusal to recommend an indictment.

Leaked Soros Document Calls For Regulating Internet To Favor ‘Open Society’ Supporters
An internal proposed strategy from George Soros’s Open Society Justice Initiative calls for international regulation of private actors’ decisions on “what information is taken off the Internet and what may remain.” Those regulations, the document notes, should favor “those most supportive of open society.”
The Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) is part of the Open Society Foundations, Soros’s secretive network of political organizations. According to the organization’s website, “The Open Society Justice Initiative uses law to protect and empower people around the world, supporting the values and work of the Open Society Foundations.”
The call for international control of the internet is part of a 34-page document titled “2014 Proposed strategy” that lays out OSJI’s goals for between 2014 and 2017.
The leaked document was one of 2,500 documents released by “hacktivist” group DCLeaks. As reported by The Daily Caller, the section of DCLeaks’ website dealing with Soros has since gone offline for unknown reasons. TheDC saved a version of the 2014 strategy before the site went offline.

Trumpocrats Say Clinton ‘Alt-Right’ Speech Backfires, Turns Democrats Toward Donald Trump: ‘Hillary Is Simply Unhinged’
Trumpocrats executive director Christian Rickers told Breitbart News that Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president, is “simply unhinged” as evidenced by her speech in Reno, Nevada, on Thursday.
“Hillary is simply unhinged and appealing to the lowest common denominator,” Rickers, a lifelong Democrat who backed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primaries but is now leading a movement crossing over to the Republican Party to back GOP nominee Donald Trump, told Breitbart News in response to Clinton’s “alt-right” speech. “Her performance today was more evidence of how desperate she has become.”
Rickers’ organization, the “Trumpocrats,” represents the tens of thousands of Democrats who are leaving the Democratic Party because they believe Hillary Clinton does not represent their values—and are instead voting for Trump in the general election. Rickers is planning a bus tour through key battleground states coming up, and is hardly alone: Several other Democrats, as Breitbart News has already reported, are standing up with him—more in those key states than the handful of Republican D.C. insiders who have switched teams to back Hillary Clinton.
Rickers expects that Clinton’s Thursday speech has backfired, and actually turned off lots of Democrats who are now even more willing to abandon the Democratic Party under Hillary’s reign and instead choose change over the status quo with Trump.
“We’re focused on Americans,” Rickers said on Thursday in an exchange with Breitbart News after Clinton’s speech. “Jobs. Bringing dignity back to American workers and families. My party has anointed the wrong person — a perfect example of the broken political system. This is disappointing and sad. Americans need to wake up. Organize with us. Join the American Uprising.”

Nigel Farage to Trump Rally: ‘You Can Beat the Pollsters… You Can Beat Washington’
Jackson, Mississippi – UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage addressed a 10,000+ strong crowd at the Coliseum in Jackson, Mississippi, telling them to “put on their walking boots” and urging them to form their own “People’s Army” to defeat the U.S. political establishment.
Mr. Farage – who led his party (UKIP) to victory in the 2014 European Parliamentary elections, to a whopping 4m votes in the 2015 UK general election, and mostly importantly, to Britain voting to leave the European Union in 2016 – has used the “People’s Army” moniker to describe his party’s supporters for years.
Introduced by Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump, he told the crowd that UKIP and Brexit campaigners had defeated the UK political establishment including the big banks, the corporations, the political classes, the pollsters, and the “liberal elite” by talking to people about controlling their country, their borders, and having self-respect for themselves.
He hit out at U.S. President Barack Obama, who visited Britain during the campaign and threatened to send the country “to the back of the queue” for a trade deal with the United States if Britain voted for Brexit.

Many Donors to Clinton Foundation Met with Hillary at State
More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money — either personally or through companies or groups — to the Clinton Foundation. It’s an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.
At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.
Donors who were granted time with Clinton included an internationally known economist who asked for her help as the Bangladesh government pressured him to resign from a nonprofit bank he ran; a Wall Street executive who sought Clinton’s help with a visa problem and Estee Lauder executives who were listed as meeting with Clinton while her department worked with the firm’s corporate charity to counter gender-based violence in South Africa.
The meetings between the Democratic presidential nominee and foundation donors do not appear to violate legal agreements Clinton and former president Bill Clinton signed before she joined the State Department in 2009. But the frequency of the overlaps shows the intermingling of access and donations, and fuels perceptions that giving the foundation money was a price of admission for face time with Clinton. Her calendars and emails released as recently as this week describe scores of contacts she and her top aides had with foundation donors.
The AP’s findings represent the first systematic effort to calculate the scope of the intersecting interests of Clinton foundation donors and people who met personally with Clinton or spoke to her by phone about their needs.

15,000 NEW Clinton Emails Set To Drop Right Before The Election
The Department of State is set to release tens of thousands of undisclosed documents the FBI found from when Hillary Clinton’s was secretary of state, after Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit over the documents.
The FBI found 15,000 documents the Democratic presidential nominee did not disclose, according to Judicial Watch. The Department of Justice confirmed that number after the State Department agreed to hand over the emails last week. The State Department is expected to outline how and when the new documents will be released — potentially on a rolling basis in October — in a federal court hearing Monday.
“FBI found almost 15,000 new Clinton documents,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton tweeted Monday morning. “When will State release them? Court hearing today.”
Clinton’s team had turned over more than 30,000 emails her lawyers deemed work-related to the State Department, after news of her private server and email account broke. But the FBI discovered the additional 15,000 in the course of its investigation that recently wrapped up with a recommendation of no charges, despite finding her handling of the server “extremely careless.”
Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group, sued for release of the newly uncovered emails, and has apparently negotiated with the State Department over the terms of their release.

Clinton’s State Department Blew $6 Billion In Contracts, And We’re About To Learn Why
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton may soon have to answer questions about an estimated $6 billion in contract mismanagement, fraud and incompetence that happened under her watch at the Department of State.
Non-profit government watchdog Cause of Action Institute (CofA) filed a Freedom of Information Act request Friday for records related to a March 2014 management alert issued by the department’s Inspector General (IG).
“The total value of the contracts the [IG] reviewed exceeded $6 billion,” the CofA’s FOIA request said. “Many of these cases arose during the tenure of Secretary Hillary Clinton.” Clinton was the country’s top diplomat from January 2009 to February 2013.
The IG alert that unveiled the mismanagement was based on three investigations and two contract-related audits.

IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER
Donald Trump is echoing Ol’ Blue Eyes with the latest additions to his staff. Should he lose, he prefers to go down to defeat as Donald Trump, and not as some synthetic creation of campaign consultants.
“I am who I am,” Trump told a Wisconsin TV station, “It’s me. I don’t want to change. … I don’t want to pivot. … If you start pivoting, you are not being honest with people.”
The remarks recall the San Francisco Cow Palace where an astonished Republican, on hearing the candidate speak out in favor of “extremism in the defense of liberty,” blurted out, “My God, he’s going to run as Barry Goldwater!”
And so he did. And Goldwater is remembered and revered by many who have long forgotten all the trimmers of both parties who tailored their convictions to suit the times, and lost.
Trump believes populism and nationalism are the future of America, and wants to keep saying so. Nor is this stance inconsistent with recapturing the ground lost in the weeks since he was running even with Hillary Clinton.
The twin imperatives for the Trump campaign are simple ones.
They must recreate in the public mind that Hillary Clinton who 56 percent of the nation thought should have been indicted for lying in the server scandal, and who two-thirds of the nation said was dishonest or untrustworthy.

The Hill: ‘Trump’s Breitbart Hire Sends Tremors Through Capitol Hill’
Niall Stanage and Scott Wong at The Hill write about the panic among the Washington establishment over Republican nominee Donald Trump’s decision to tap Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon as his new campaign CEO.
Donald Trump’s campaign shake-up is being seen on Capitol Hill as yet another shot across the bows of the GOP establishment.
The changes in effect demote Paul Manafort, the campaign chairman who had been urging Trump to show more restraint, and promote pollster Kellyanne Conway to the position of campaign manager.
But the real bombshell came with the recruitment of Steve Bannon, an executive with the conservative news organization Breitbart, as the campaign’s CEO.
Breitbart has been synonymous with attacks on the GOP leadership, especially in recent weeks and months. A particular foe: Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).
The site has also suggested that Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is insufficiently rock-ribbed when it comes to standing up to Democrats.
That coverage, together with Breitbart’s broader reputation for inflammatory journalism, is causing consternation on Capitol Hill.

Boston Globe Calls For Hillary To Shut Down Clinton Foundation
The Boston Globe has called for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton to immediately cut donations to the Clinton Foundation, and then shut down the non-profit if she becomes president.
“Although the charity founded by former President Bill Clinton has done admirable work over the last 15 years, the Clinton Foundation is also now clearly a liability for Hillary Clinton as she seeks the presidency in 2016,” the editorial board argued Tuesday. “The once-and-maybe-future first family will have plenty to keep them busy next year if Hillary Clinton defeats Donald Trump in November. The foundation should remove a political — and actual — distraction and stop accepting funding. If Clinton is elected, the foundation should be shut down.”
Clinton continued her work at the Clinton Foundation while serving as secretary of state in the Obama administration. Released emails seem to indicate she wasn’t able to keep her roles adequately separate.
The damage caused by the fluidity between roles would be unbelievably magnified, were she to become president.

House Committee Chairmen Lay Out Case For Perjury Against Hillary Rodham Clinton To U.S. Attorney
Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president of the United States, may have committed perjury in testimony before Congress, two separate U.S. House committee chairmen detailed late Monday.
In a letter from House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) to U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Channing Phillips, the two top House Republicans made their case that Clinton committed perjury.
Chaffetz and Goodlatte wrote to Phillips:
On August 2, 2016, Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik confirmed that you received the Committees’ request for an investigation regarding certain statements made by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her testimony before Congress and will ‘take appropriate action as necessary. To assist the investigation, this letter identifies several pieces of Secretary Clinton’s testimony that appear to implicate 18 U.S.C. §§1621 and 1001 the criminal statutes that prohibit perjury and false statements, respectively. The evidence collected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) during its investigation of Secretary Clinton’s use of a personal email system during her time as Secretary of State appears to directly contradict several aspects of her sworn testimony, which are described in greater detail below.
Before detailing at least four specific instances in which Clinton allegedly committed perjury, the House Republicans explained the matter a bit further:

New Clinton Effort Tries to Tap the Power of ‘Dreamers’–AP
Hillary Clinton’s campaign is launching a new effort to tap into the political power of young, undocumented immigrants, hoping to capitalize on Donald Trump’s promises to make deporting them a top priority of his presidency.
The 730,000 young people brought to the U.S. as children without legal status are prohibited from voting. Known as Dreamers, they’ve proven themselves to be a powerful organizing force in American politics, mounting a high-profile public campaign that pressured President Barack Obama to grant many of them and their parents reprieves from deportation though two executive orders.
Clinton’s national voter registration program, called “Mi Sueño, Tu Voto/My Dream, Your Vote,” is being launched on the four-year anniversary of the 2012 order that temporarily shielded from deportation some young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children and allowed them to work legally.
Organizers will remind voters that a Trump presidency would end that program, according to the campaign, which is already at risk after a June Supreme Court effectively killed Obama’s efforts to give legal status to some of the 11 million immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
The program is part of an aggressive effort by Clinton’s campaign to woo the record 27.3 million Latinos eligible to vote in 2016. Polling shows Trump doing worse with Latino voters than any GOP presidential candidate since 1996. Much of the new effort will focus on battleground states including Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina and Florida, where Latinos and other immigrants make up an important part of the voting base.

Yes, the System Is Rigged
“I’m afraid the election is going to be rigged,” Donald Trump told voters in Ohio and Sean Hannity on Fox News. And that hit a nerve.
“Dangerous,” “toxic,” came the recoil from the media.
Trump is threatening to “delegitimize” the election results of 2016.
Well, if that is what Trump is trying to do, he has no small point. For consider what 2016 promised and what it appears about to deliver.
This longest of election cycles has rightly been called the Year of the Outsider. It was a year that saw a mighty surge of economic populism and patriotism, a year when a 74-year-old Socialist senator set primaries ablaze with mammoth crowds that dwarfed those of Hillary Clinton.
It was the year that a non-politician, Donald Trump, swept Republican primaries in an historic turnout, with his nearest rival an ostracized maverick in his own Republican caucus, Senator Ted Cruz.

Obama DOJ Blocked Clinton Foundation Investigation
It has been revealed that while federal investigators were probing Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as Secretary of State, the Obama Justice Department denied an FBI request to investigate the Clinton Foundation.
“The FBI went to Justice Department earlier this year asking for it to open a case into the foundation, but the public integrity unit declined,” CNN breaking news writer Daniella Diaz reported Wednesday.
This bombshell comes on the heels of an explosive revelation found in the release of nearly 300 pages of emails belonging to then-Secretary of State Clinton that shine a spotlight on the crony connections Clinton facilitated between the State Department and her family foundation.
As Breitbart News reported, email exchanges, uncovered by government watchdog group Judicial Watch, as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, reveal Clinton aids conducted favors for Clinton Foundation personnel, while another email exchange saw senior Clinton staffers putting Clinton Foundation mega-donors in contact with top State Department officials.

Hillary Aide Cheryl Mills OK’d Oil Deal That Put $500K In Bill’s Pocket
Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly defended an embattled banker during an official visit to Bangladesh while Clinton Foundation officials tried to steer money from an Abu Dhabi oil company into the banker’s coffers.
A Daily Caller News Foundation investigation traced the convoluted payment by TAQA — formally known as the the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company — to Muhammad Yunus’ Grameen Bank. Yunus is a long-time friend and Clinton Foundation donor.
The oil company deal eventually put as much as $500,000 into President Bill Clinton’s pockets via a speaking fee he got in Scotland.
The complicated set of international transactions is contained in a cryptic May 7, 2012, email chain between Cheryl Mills, then Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff, and Amitabh Desai, the Clinton Foundation’s foreign policy director. The email chain was obtained by Citizens United, the conservative activist group that is the lead plaintiff in multiple federal Freedom of Information Act court cases.

WikiLeaks’ Assange: Hillary Tries To Link Trump To Putin To Hide Her ‘Many Connections’ To Russia
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claimed that Hillary Clinton is working so hard to tie Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin to hide her “many connections” to Russia.
Assange made the comments during an interview with Russia Today’s Afshin Rattansi that aired Saturday.
The conversation turned to questions about Trump’s relationship with Putin approximately eight minutes into the interview, at which point Assange claimed there “is no substantial connection” between the two.
“Hillary Clinton has done quite well strategically to try and draw connection between Trump and Russia because she has so many connections of her own,” Assange explained. “My analysis of Trump and Russia is that there is no substantial connection.”
“Trump was trying to invest in Russia before Putin in the 1990s, after Putin, in fact nearly all the way up to the present moment, and he’s had no success,” he continued. “He’s not managed to build hotels in Russia, so that shows how insubstantial his contacts are.”
“There’s an extremely well-documented pattern of when Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, those people, companies, governments who wanted a decision by the secretary of state in their favor, making large donations to the Clinton Foundation or in some cases business deals with the people around Hillary Clinton.”

Clinton’s Server Has Emails Discussing Nuclear Scientist Executed By Iran
Hillary Clinton’s private email server contains several messages discussing Shahram Amiri, the Iranian nuclear scientist who the Islamic republic executed earlier this week amid allegations he was a spy for the U.S. government.
One of those emails, which a Clinton aide forwarded to the then-secretary of state in July 2010, referred to Amiri as “our friend.”
It is unclear if the existence of the sensitive emails — which were first revealed by Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton during an interview Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” — put Amiri at additional risk of conviction or execution by Iran. But Cotton, a Republican, suggested that the emails provided further evidence that Clinton’s use of a private and unsecured email server put American secrets at risk and was “reckless and careless.”
“I’m not going to comment on what he may or may not have done for the United States government, but in the emails that were on Hillary Clinton’s private server, there were conversations among her senior advisors about this gentleman,” Cotton told “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson.

You Won’t Believe Just How Connected Khizr Khan Is To Hillary’s Email Server
Khizr Khan — father of deceased U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan — is closely connected to the secret email server Hillary Clinton used while serving as Secretary of State.
Prior to opening his own shop, KM Kahn Law Office in New York, Khan spent nine years working for the global law firm Hogan & Hartson — now known as Hogan Lovells — in Washington, D.C.
According to Breitbart, a screenshot of the now-deleted website for Khan’s office describes his tenure at Hogan & Hartson as managing the firm’s “Litigation Technology Services group,” for both domestic and international offices.
In Khan’s role as manager “he was responsible for numerous large electronic discovery projects in complex litigation, mergers an acquisitions.”
Oddly enough, Hogan & Hartson — again, the firm for which Khan oversaw the Tech branch for nearly a decade — was the law firm who handled the patent for “SPAMTRAQ,” the spam-filtering program used on Clinton’s server.
According to Breitbart’s Patrick Howley, SPAMTRAQ was developed by Denver-based company MX Logic, and is known for leaving servers particularly vulnerable to security breaches.

Bill Clinton Got Millions From World’s Biggest Sharia Law Education Firm
Former President Bill Clinton collected $5.6 million in fees from GEMS Education, a Dubai-based company that teaches Sharia Law through its network of more than 100 schools in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation.
The company’s finances strictly adhere to “Sharia Finance,” which includes giving “zakat,” a religious tax of which one-eighth of the proceeds is dedicated to funding Islamic jihad.
The company also contributed millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation.
The former president served as honorary chairman for GEMS Education from 2011 to 2014, according to federal tax returns he filed with his wife, 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
His biggest paycheck from the closely-held company — which is incorporated in the Cayman Islands — was in 2014 when he pocketed $2.1 million. It is unclear if Bill received income from the Middle Eastern firm in 2015, since Hillary has not yet released her tax return for that year.

Khizr Khan Set Up Hillary Clinton's UNSECURED Private Email Server
1.) Kate Bolduan admitted on live television today — see approximately 3:20 in this video:
When Bolduan says of Khizr Khan: “I have no idea what you’re talking about, what law firm he’s connected to.” — that she did not do any basic journalistic research on the subjects she was hosting a panel on. Is that acceptable by CNN standards?
2.) Does CNN plan to, in the future, have a discussion about all of Khizr Khan’s various connections to the law firm that A) prepared Hillary Clinton’s taxes, B) helped with various aspects of Hillary Clinton’s illicit homebrew email server, C) is paid by the government of Saudi Arabia for representation here in the United States, among other things?
3.) Does CNN plan to, in the future, focus on the fact that Khan now runs a law firm that financially benefits from opposition to Donald Trump’s policies on migration — specifically that he aims to represent aspiring EB5 visa holders, who pay large sums of money to enter the country, a program that the Senate Judiciary Committee has uncovered as having major flaws?
4.) Has anyone at CNN done any work digging into any of this? You’re aware it’s all publicly available with a simple Google search and would have taken a junior producer less than an hour to find it all out?
What’s perhaps interesting is that also on this website that he has now deleted, Khan revealed that he spent nearly a decade working for the mega-D.C. law firm Hogan & Hartson—now Hogan Lovells LLP—which connects him directly with the government of Saudi Arabia and the Clintons themselves. Saudi Arabia, which has retained the firm that Khan worked at for years, has donated between $10 million and $25 million to the Clinton Foundation. Hillary Clinton, despite the repeated urging of Trump, has refused to return the Clinton Cash money to the Saudis. What’s more, Hogan Lovells also did Hillary Clinton’s taxes—and helped acquire the patents for parts of the technology she used in crafting her illicit home-brew email server that the FBI director called “extremely careless” in handling classified information.

Hillary Completed No Security Briefings Or Courses At State Dept
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton completed no security briefings or courses on the proper handling of classified materials and how to conduct secure communications while at the Department of State, according to new Obama administration legal filings before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
The surprise admission was released late Friday and could reignite the controversy over Clinton’s “careless” handling of classified materials as asserted by FBI Director James Comey, which has already been a central part of the presidential race.
The revelation also could renew calls for the Department of State to strip her of her security clearance. The co-founder of at least one retired military officers organization has called for a suspension of her clearance.
State Department officials previously reported they could not locate records certifying that Clinton or her top aides took the annually required security courses and briefings.

WSJ: The Clinton Foundation, State and Kremlin Connections
Hillary Clinton touts her tenure as secretary of state as a time of hardheaded realism and “commercial diplomacy” that advanced American national and commercial interests. But her handling of a major technology transfer initiative at the heart of Washington’s effort to “reset” relations with Russia raises serious questions about her record. Far from enhancing American national interests, Mrs. Clinton’s efforts in this area may have substantially undermined U.S. national security.
Consider Skolkovo, an “innovation city” of 30,000 people on the outskirts of Moscow, billed as Russia’s version of Silicon Valley—and a core piece of Mrs. Clinton’s quarterbacking of the Russian reset.
Following his 2009 visit to Moscow, President Obama announced the creation of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission. Mrs. Clinton as secretary of state directed the American side, and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov represented the Russians. The stated goal at the time: “identifying areas of cooperation and pursuing joint projects and actions that strengthen strategic stability, international security, economic well-being, and the development of ties between the Russian and American people.”
The Kremlin committed $5 billion over three years to fund Skolkovo. Mrs. Clinton’s State Department worked aggressively to attract U.S. investment partners and helped the Russian State Investment Fund, Rusnano, identify American tech companies worthy of Russian investment. Rusnano, which a scientific adviser to President Vladimir Putin called “Putin’s child,” was created in 2007 and relies entirely on Russian state funding.
