GIULIANI SAYS BRUCE OHR SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR POSSIBLE FELONY

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani suggested the Department of Justice should investigate its own employee, Bruce Ohr, over payments his wife received from Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that commissioned the Steele dossier.

Writing on Twitter, Giuliani questioned whether the Justice Department has opened an investigation into whether Ohr had a written waiver for his wife’s work for Fusion GPS.

“What are the odds the DOJ or Mueller have begun an investigation of Bruce Ohr for violating 18 USC sec. 208? That’s a federal felony unless he disclosed all facts to the DOJ and has a written waiver. How many of you know what that is?” Giuliani wrote.

Ohr’s wife, a Russia expert named Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS as part of its Democrat-funded investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

The law firm that represented the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee (DNC) paid Fusion GPS just over $1 million to investigate Trump. Fusion, which was founded by three former Wall Street Journal reporters, paid Steele $178,000 for his work. Nellie Ohr was paid $44,000, according to California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, who took part in Ohr’s hearing Tuesday.

FBI REFUSES TO CONFIRM OR DENY ICIG WARNED OF CLINTON SERVER INTRUSION

  • The FBI won’t disclose whether it met with senior officials of the Intelligence Community Inspector General.
  • TheDCNF confirmed that the ICIG briefed top bureau officials on three separate occasions to warn the FBI of an “anomaly” they found 30,000 in-bound and outgoing emails.
  • The anomaly showed a code embedded in Clinton’s server was producing in real time a “courtesy copy” to a third party.

The FBI refuses to disclose whether or not it met with senior members of the Intelligence Community Inspector General on the subject of foreign intrusion of former Secretary Hillary Clinton’s private server.

An FBI spokeswoman refused to confirm if Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) officials — including Frank Rucker, its chief investigator — briefed top bureau officials about evidence of penetration of Clinton’s private server by a Chinese government intelligence operation. “We have no comment,” she told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Earlier Wednesday, an FBI spokesman released what appeared to be a categorical statement about the Clinton server: “The FBI has not found any evidence the servers were compromised,” the FBI stated.

‘PURE BS’: DON JR. HITS CNN OVER FIZZLED ‘BOMBSHELLS’

Donald Trump Jr. continued his battle with CNN on Tuesday, calling two of the network’s “bombshell” reports “pure BS.”

“It’s simple, there is no penalty for being wrong about Trump. If it’s against Trump, any error no matter how egregious is ignored or forgiven,” Trump Jr. tweeted.

He was referring to two CNN stories, one published last month and one published in December, that were widely cited after publication as evidence of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

The first story, from Dec. 8, 2017, alleged that Donald Trump Jr. received an email on Sept. 4, 2016 containing a link and encryption key to hacked emails provided to Wikileaks. The second story, published on July 27, asserted that former Trump attorney Michael Cohen claimed to have been present during a meeting when Trump Jr. told his father about a June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with a group of Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton.

According to CNN, Cohen said he was willing to tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that President Trump approved of the meeting.

The first story was completely debunked while the second has come under intense scrutiny, given that one of the sources, Cohen attorney Lanny Davis, has retracted his claim.

LANNY DAVIS BUSTS CNN — ADMITS HE WAS SOURCE FOR NETWORK’S DEBUNKED TRUMP TOWER STORY

  • Lanny Davis, the attorney for Michael Cohen, has dropped another bombshell, this time on CNN.
  • Davis told BuzzFeed that he was one of the anonymous sources for CNN’s July 27 report alleging that Cohen had information that Trump approved of the infamous Trump Tower meeting in June 2016.
  • Davis admits that he lied last week when he denied being a source. CNN is standing by its report.

Lanny Davis has acknowledged that he was an anonymous source for CNN for a now-debunked story published in July claiming that former Trump attorney Michael Cohen is willing to tell the special counsel’s office that President Donald Trump had foreknowledge of the infamous Trump Tower meeting.

Davis, a Clinton-connected public relations guru who is representing Cohen, admitted to BuzzFeed News on Monday that he was a source for CNN’s story, which appeared on July 27.

The report cited “sources with knowledge” of Cohen’s comments who claimed that he was in a meeting with Donald Trump Jr. when he told his father about a meeting set up with a group of Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton.

The report marked a major development in the Russia investigation because both Trump Jr. and Trump have denied that Trump knew about the June 9, 2016 meeting until it was reported last July.

BRIAN STELTER IGNORES CNN’S BUNGLED TRUMP TOWER STORY

  • CNN has refused to acknowledge a massive error in its July 27 report that Michael Cohen has information implicating President Donald Trump in a cover-up over the Trump Tower meeting.
  • Cohen’s lawyer debunked the report earlier this week.
  • CNN’s Brian Stelter interviewed Carl Bernstein, one of the authors of the false report, on Sunday but did not bring up the fake news.

The host of CNN’s media criticism show “Reliable Sources” on Sunday interviewed Carl Bernstein, one of the reporters who wrote a since-debunked story asserting that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen claimed President Donald Trump approved the infamous Trump Tower meeting.

But Bernstein’s faulty reporting was not one of the topics of discussion on the CNN show, which is hosted by Brian Stelter. Instead, Stelter led a panel discussion in which Trump was called a “liar” several times.

Bernstein and CNN reporters Jim Sciutto and Marshall Cohen reported July 27 that Cohen is willing to tell special counsel Robert Mueller that he took part in a meeting in which Donald Trump Jr. told his father about an offer to meet with a group of Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton.

According to CNN’s anonymous sources, Cohen said Trump approved of the meeting. The story caused waves, with CNN hosts discussing the story for days. Democrats and Trump critics argued the report was the strongest evidence yet that Trump colluded with Russia. They also noted that Trump and Trump Jr. publicly denied that Trump knew about the meeting until it was reported in the press in July 2017.

ERIC SWALWELL FLOATS DEBUNKED TRUMP TOWER STORY IN MSNBC INTERVIEW

California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell falsely claimed Thursday that former Trump attorney Michael Cohen has information that President Donald Trump had foreknowledge of the Trump Tower meeting with Russians in June 2016.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace, Swalwell appeared to cite a CNN report from July that Cohen was present at a conference when Trump approved the meeting between his son and a group of Russians offering dirt on former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“It is clear that Michael Cohen was not truthful with the House Intelligence Committee, which is all the more reason that we never should have ended our investigation. It now sounds like, listening to Mr. Davis, that Mr. Cohen does have information about what candidate Trump knew about the Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton in the meeting they set up at Trump Tower,” said Swalwell, a Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

LANNY DAVIS: MICHAEL COHEN NEVER WENT TO PRAGUE AS STEELE DOSSIER CLAIMS

  • Michael Cohen’s lawyer dropped a bombshell on Wednesday, saying that Cohen has not been to Prague
  • The Steele dossier alleges that Cohen traveled to Prague during the campaign to collude with Russians
  • But Cohen lawyer Lanny Davis says that the dossier allegations are “false”

Lanny Davis, the Clinton-connected attorney for Michael Cohen, said Wednesday that the former Trump lawyer had never been to Prague, as the infamous Steele dossier alleges.

“Thirteen references to Mr. Cohen are false in the dossier, but he has never been to Prague in his life,” Davis said Wednesday in an interview on Bloomberg.

The statement is a significant denial given that, according to Davis, Cohen has turned over a new leaf by deciding to discuss his work on behalf of President Donald Trump.

Cohen pleaded guilty on Tuesday to tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations. He claimed that he acted at the direction of Trump by paying off two women who claimed they had affairs with the former real estate mogul in 2006.

But Cohen did not address a larger question of whether he was involved in a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian government, as former British spy Christopher Steele claimed in the Democrat-funded dossier.

REP. DUNCAN HUNTER INDICTED FOR ALLEGEDLY MISUSING $250K IN CAMPAIGN FUNDS

California Rep. Duncan Hunter and his wife were indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday on charges that they illegally spent more than $250,000 in campaign funds on vacations and personal items.

The scheme took place between 2009 and 2016, according to the Justice Department. Hunter, a 41-year-old Republican, took office in 2009.

“The purchases included family vacations to Italy, Hawaii, Phoenix, Arizona, and Boise, Idaho; school tuition; dental work; theater tickets; and domestic and international travel for almost a dozen relatives,” the Department of Justice said in a statement announcing the indictment.

The Hunters will be arraigned in federal court in San Diego on Thursday. They face charges of conspiracy against the United States, wire fraud, falsification of records and prohibited use of campaign contributions.

WATCHDOG SUES PENTAGON ON BEHALF OF WHISTLEBLOWER WHO QUESTIONED CONTRACTS TO ‘SPYGATE’ FIGURE

  • Pentagon analyst Adam Lovinger flagged contracts given to FBI informant Stefan Halper in October 2016.
  • Lovinger was stripped of his security clearance several months later.
  • Judicial Watch is suing on behalf of Lovinger, who filed a whistleblower complaint last year.

The watchdog group Judicial Watch is suing the Department of Defense on behalf of a Pentagon analyst who said he was stripped of his security clearance after raising concerns about contracts given to Stefan Halper, the FBI informant who spied on the Trump campaign.

Adam Lovinger, a former analyst at the Office of Net Assessment (ONA), the Pentagon’s internal think tank, had filed public records requests seeking information about the Pentagon’s decision to strip him of his security clearance in May 2017.

Months earlier, Lovinger, a 12-year veteran of ONA, had filed a complaint with his boss, ONA Director James Baker, about contracts that went to Halper as well as to a firm called Long Term Strategic Group, a consulting company owned by Clinton friend Jacqueline Newmeyer Deal.

Lovinger, who filed a whistleblower complaint in September 2017, claims that he was stripped of his security clearance because of his complaints about the contracts. In an October 2016 email to Baker, Lovinger raised concerns about “the moral hazard associated with the Washington Headquarters Services contracting with Stefan Halper.”

MINNESOTA DFL PARTY BACKS KEITH ELLISON DESPITE DOMESTIC ABUSE ALLEGATIONS

The Minnesota Democratic Farm Labor (DFL) Party overwhelming voted to endorse embattled Democrat Keith Ellison for state attorney general on Saturday, despite recent abuse allegations.

The party voted in favor of endorsing Ellison by a vote of 326 to 70.

“I want to tell you, face to face, that I never abused Karen,” Ellison said to the delegation, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune. “Despite everything, I still care about her as a person and I don’t want anybody to say anything insulting to her at all.”

The delegation opted to vote via paper ballot instead of voice vote to allow individuals to feel more comfortable.

“Our party is going to do everything it can to help Keith and the other candidates on the ballot,” DFL Party Chair Ken Martin said after the vote was announced.

PENTAGON WHISTLEBLOWER QUESTIONED FBI INFORMANT STEFAN HALPER’S ‘OUTRAGEOUS’ CONTRACTS

  • A Pentagon whistleblower complained in October 2016 about “outrageous” contracts that were provided to Stefan Halper, the FBI informant who spied on the Trump campaign.
  • The whistleblower, Adam Lovinger, was stripped of his security clearance after complaining about Halper’s contracts.
  • Lovinger’s lawyer says Halper’s work for the Pentagon could have provided him the cover he needed to contact the Trump campaign.
Over a year before Stefan Halper was revealed as an FBI informant who spied on the Trump campaign, a Pentagon analyst complained to his bosses about “astronomically outrageous” contracts given to Halper, a former University of Cambridge professor.

That analyst, Adam Lovinger, has since been stripped of his security clearance; he says because he blew the whistle on the Pentagon contracts with Halper and Long Term Strategic Group (LTSG), a firm owned by a childhood friend of Chelsea Clinton’s named Jacqueline Newmyer Deal.

Lovinger flagged the contracts in 2016 to his boss James Baker, the director of the Office of Net Assessment (ONA), a small Defense Department unit known as the Pentagon’s think tank. Shortly after joining the National Security Council, Lovinger’s security clearance was revoked on May 1, 2017.

PAPADOPOULOS’S WIFE SAYS HE SHOULD SCRAP HIS PLEA DEAL WITH MUELLER

  • The wife of Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos is making the bombshell suggestion that her husband drop a plea deal he has with special counsel Robert Mueller.
  • Papadopoulos is scheduled to be sentenced in September as part of his plea deal for lying to the FBI.
  • But Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos says her husband did not commit a crime. She says he should sue the federal government.

Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos, the wife of former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, says her husband should find new attorneys and drop a plea deal he struck in October 2017 with the special counsel’s office.

In a tweet Wednesday, Mangiante Papadopoulos made a request for a lawyer to represent her husband pro bono.

“Your biggest reward will be #History. Your name will go down on history!” wrote Mangiante Papadopoulos, an Italian actress and model who once worked as an attorney in the European Parliament in Brussels.

“George should drop off his plea agreement, in my opinion,” Mangiante Papadopoulos told The Daily Caller News Foundation when contacted after her tweet.

RAND PAUL RIPS DEMS, ANTI-TRUMP CONSERVATIVES FOR ‘DESTROYING’ DIPLOMATIC ENGAGEMENT WITH RUSSIA

President Donald Trump’s domestic opponents on the left and right are exploiting the Russia issue for political gain at the expense of diplomatic engagement with Moscow on issues of mutual concern, Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday.

The Kentucky Republican warned that bipartisan hostility to dialogue with the Kremlin risks making Trump’s outreach to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin politically impossible, even on matters as critical as nuclear arms control.

“I think it’s important we have dialogue between the countries that contain and control 90 percent of the nuclear weapons in the word,” Paul told reporters on a conference call from Russia, where he was meeting with lawmakers.

“I think the political anger by Democrats against Trump is completely destroying any opportunity to talk about issues like arms control,” he added.

Paul traveled to Moscow on Aug. 6, two days before the Trump administration announced it would sanction certain Russian goods as punishment for Moscow’s alleged involvement in the March poisoning of Sergei Skripal, a former Russian double agent living in Britain.

ROGER STONE: THE WITCH HUNT CONTINUES

One of Stone’s Rules is “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.” Even I may have taken exception to that rule last Friday.

If you followed the news last Friday, you know that my longtime friend Kristin Davis testified before Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s grand jury, that my longtime associate and wingman Andrew Miller was held in contempt for his refusal to testify for the grand jury, and that a subpoena was dropped on Randy Credico who, despite his public denials, was the source who first told me that Wikileaks had the goods on Hillary and would release them in October. It was a Deep State Trifecta!

Andrew Miller’s contempt citation is a bit more complicated and his appeal may be problematic for Mueller down the road.

Mueller is running a criminally abusive, constitutionally -unaccountable, professionally and politically incestuous conspiracy of ethically conflicted cronies colluding to violate my Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights and those of almost everyone who had any sort of political or personal association with me in the last 10 years.

NPR HOST CALLS OUT OMAROSA OVER DISCREPANCY IN TRUMP RACISM ALLEGATION

In an interview Friday, former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman contradicted a claim in her forthcoming book that she heard a tape of President Trump using the “n-word.”

Manigault Newman insisted in an NPR interview that she heard Trump utter the pejorative in an audio file recorded on the set of “The Apprentice.”

“Hearing it changed everything for me,” Manigault Newman told NPR host Rachel Martin.

“I heard the President of the United States use, not only the ‘n-word,’ but as Bill Pruitt described during that interview, other horrible things during the production of ‘The Apprentice,'” she continued. Pruitt is a former “Apprentice” producer who claimed before the 2016 election that tapes existed of Trump making racial comments about black people.

But as Martin noted in the interview, Manigault Newman wrote in her book, “Unhinged,” that she was merely told of the tape. She does not suggest in the tell-all that she has actually heard Trump’s voice.

EMAILS SHOW CHRISTOPHER STEELE LOBBIED DOJ OFFICIAL ON BEHALF OF RUSSIAN OLIGARCH

  • Christopher Steele was working on the Trump dossier at the same time he was lobbying DOJ official Bruce Ohr on behalf of a Russian oligarch linked to Putin.
  • Newly revealed emails show Steele thought the U.S. government should grant visas to Deripaska, who had been barred from traveling to the U.S.
  • Steele asked Ohr to “keep an eye” on Deripaska’s visa case.
  • At the same time Christopher Steele was compiling a dossier accusing the Trump campaign of colluding with the Russian government, the former British spy was lobbying Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr on behalf of a Russian oligarch with close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The connection between Steele and the oligarch, Oleg Deripaska, is laid out in emails the Justice Department recently provided Congress.

The emails show that Steele, a former British spy, advocated for Deripaska in negotiations over his visa status with the U.S. government. Deripaska, an aluminum magnate, had been blocked from traveling to the U.S. in 2006 because of suspected ties to Russian mobsters. Deripaska hired an American lawyer named Adam Waldman in 2009 to lobby the U.S. government to obtain a visa for the billionaire.

The Washington Examiner detailed the exchanges, which show Steele discussing Deripaska with Ohr, the former No. 4 official at the Justice Department.

CHRISTOPHER STEELE WAS ‘CONCERNED’ ABOUT SENATE INQUIRIES INTO DOSSIER, TEXT MESSAGES SHOW

  • Text messages between dossier author Christopher Steele and Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr have been released.
  • Steele said in one message that he was “concerned” by a Senate Committee on the Judiciary request for records about the dossier.
  • Ohr and Steele met in Washington, D.C., before the FBI opened its investigation of the Trump campaign.
  • Christopher Steele expressed concern last year at a Senate committee’s request for information about the former British spy’s anti-Trump dossier, according to text messages recently provided to Congress.

“Would it be possible to speak later today please? We’re very concerned by the Grassley letter and it’s possible implications for us, our operations and our sources. We need some reassurances,” Steele wrote in a March 7, 2017 text message to Bruce Ohr, who then served as deputy assistant attorney general.

Steele, a former MI6 officer, was seemingly referring to a March 6, 2017 letter that Senate Committee on the Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley sent to then-FBI Director James Comey seeking information about Steele and the dossier.

The text message is part of a trove of documents that the Department of Justice recently provided to several congressional committees investigating the government’s handling of Steele’s dossier. The Hill obtained some of the records and reported on several text message and email exchanges between Ohr and Steele.

GOP LAWMAKERS RENEW FOCUS ON BRUCE OHR, THE DOJ OFFICIAL WHOSE WIFE WORKED FOR FUSION GPS

  • Republicans are hinting that Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr is more important to the government’s Trump-Russia investigation than previously known.
  • Ohr was in frequent contact with dossier author Christopher Steele, and his wife worked for Fusion GPS, the firm that hired Steele.
  • Rep. Devin Nunes said Monday that Ohr is “going to become more and more important” to the investigation into possible surveillance abuse against the Trump campaign.

Republican lawmakers have renewed their focus on Bruce Ohr, the high-level Department of Justice official who was in contact with the author of the Steele dossier and whose wife worked for the opposition research firm that commissioned the salacious document.

California Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Monday that Ohr “is going to become more and more important” to his panel’s investigation into the FBI and Justice Department’s use of the Steele dossier to obtain Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants to spy on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

“I think people should pay close attention to it,” Nunes said of Ohr in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, a member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, echoed Nunes’ statements in a separate interview with Hannity on Tuesday.

“Bruce Ohr is now the key to this,” Jordan said in an interview alongside The Hill’s John Solomon.

REVEALED: ALL SIGNS SUGGEST THIS IS FEINSTEIN’S FORMER STAFFER WHO’S ACCUSED OF BEING A CHINESE SPY

  • It was reported that Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein employed a Chinese spy.
  • Her longtime staffer, Russell Lowe, fits the description of the reported spy.
  • Feinstein’s office refused to comment on whether Lowe was the spy.

All the details of a former, longtime Sen. Dianne Feinstein staffer who’s accused of relaying information to Chinese intelligence services while working for the California Democrat point to Russell Lowe, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has determined.

Lowe worked for 20 years in Feinstein’s San Francisco office, where he was a staff liaison to the Asian-American community before leaving approximately five years ago. All those details match up with the descriptions of the Chinese spy Feinstein reportedly employed.

“Chinese intelligence once recruited a staff member at a California office of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, and the source reported back to China about local politics,” Politico Magazine reported on July 27, describing the staffer as “a liaison to the local Chinese community” who was secretly “reporting back” to Chinese intelligence services

TRUMP CLAIMS ‘FAKE NEWS’ MEDIA IS AT IT AGAIN WITH REPORTS ABOUT TRUMP JR MEETINGS

President Donald Trump dinged “Fake News” Sunday morning for pushing what he called fabricated reports that he is concerned about his son’s decision to meet in 2016 with a Russian lawyer.

“Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower,” Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to reports Saturday suggesting he is concerned Donald Trump Jr. is in legal trouble with respect to Special Council Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling.

Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics – and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 5, 2018

“This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics – and it went nowhere. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT IS SILENT ABOUT WHY IT HAS FAILED TO PRESERVE COMEY EMAILS IN FOIA CASE

  • The Department of Justice is refusing to preserve work-related emails on former FBI Director James Comey’s private account.
  • The Justice Department Inspector General disclosed that Comey used a personal email account to conduct agency business.
  • The Justice Department has refused to turn over government records on Comey’s personal account, which The Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch requested under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Department of Justice has refused to take any steps to preserve work-related emails former FBI Director James Comey had on a personal account that The Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch requested under the Freedom of Information Act, the conservative watchdog will file in court Friday.

“There is nothing but complete silence about why the FBI has failed to take steps to preserve records responsive to DCNF’s request,” Judicial Watch attorney Michael Bekesha will write in the filing before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Judicial Watch and TheDCNF filed a joint lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act on April 25 seeking records, including emails, Comey produced regarding meetings and conversations he had with then-President Barack Obama, then-Vice President Joe Biden and a variety of other political figures.

Following the Justice Department Inspector General’s June 2018 report, which disclosed that Comey used a personal Gmail account for official FBI business, both groups sought a preservation order to assure no records related to their FOIA requests were lost or destroyed.

UNFAKE THE NEWS: TWITTER SHADOW BANS CONSERVATIVES, BUT BLAMES THEIR ALGORITHM

Twitter recently changed their algorithm and it led to the “shadow banning” of many prominent Republican figures. Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Mark Meadows, and Jim Jordan all had their visibility in searches suppressed, a Vice News investigation from last week.

Twitter executives absolved themselves of any fault, blaming it entirely on the algorithm. But, as TheDC’s Vince Coglianese points out, if that were true, wouldn’t some Democrats have been shadow banned as well?

“Unfake the News” is a Daily Caller program dedicated to debunking the mainstream media narratives that dominate our news cycle.

That’s where TheDC’s Vince Coglianese steps in to cut through the PC bull. Each week, Vince takes a closer look at how cable news outlets are telling the top story and then gives you his own unadulterated take.

MUELLER REFERRED TONY PODESTA CASE TO NEW YORK PROSECUTORS

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has referred cases on a group of prominent American lobbyists, including Democrat-connected superlobbyist Tony Podesta, to federal prosecutors in New York as part of an inquiry into whether the operatives worked as unregistered foreign agents.

Mueller also referred former Obama White House General Counsel Greg Craig and former Minnesota Republican Rep. Vin Weber to the New York office as part of the inquiry, according to CNN.

All three of the lobbyists worked with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort on a campaign to help former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

Mueller has indicted Manafort in two federal jurisdictions on a slew of charges related to his work for Yanukovcyh, including tax evasion and acting as an unregistered foreign agent. Manafort went on trial in Virginia on Tuesday.
