In 2010, Terry McAuliffe, now the Democratic governor of Virginia, made a trip to the Caribbean communist island Cuba to sell “Virginia wine and apples” according to a 2013 Washington Post story by Peter Wallsten and Carol Leonnig.
The trip turned out to be bust for McAuliffe, but in more ways than one. Cuban officials scoffed at McAuliffe’s sales pitch and he faced heat once he returned from Cuba.
“The Cubans scoffed at his propositions during the April 2010 visit, unmoved by the full-frontal style of persuasion that has long powered McAuliffe’s success as an investor and political rainmaker,” Wallsten and Leonnig wrote. “Cuban officials not only rejected McAuliffe, but in meeting after meeting lectured him about the supposed ill effects of the U.S. trade embargo on the island nation.”
Those revelations were brought up in the heat of the 2013 gubernatorial election contest McAuliffe was facing against Republican Ken Cuccinelli, but they have resurfaced as both Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump candidates are trying to make inroads with Cuban-Americans in Florida to win the swing state’s coveted 29 electoral votes this November.
After Trump made a pitch to those Cuban-Americans in Miami’s Little Havana on Tuesday, then later in that evening in Melbourne, FL, Newsweek published a story alleging Trump’s company through the services of Seven Arrows Investment and Development Corp., a consulting firm, attempted in 1998 to line up business on the Caribbean communist island of Cuba, which at the time would have been illegal.

Obama Administration Official: We Don’t Screen Refugees For Radical Views
A state department official could not answer Wednesday whether refugees are screened for radical views during a senate hearing.
Republican Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions asked Simon Henshaw, principal deputy assistant secretary at the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migrants of the U.S. Department of State, “do you make any inquiry about practices that we reject in the United States like female genital mutilation?”
Sessions added, “Do you say, ‘do you believe in that and when you come to the United States will you comply with the laws of the United States on that kind of question?'”
The state department official replied, “On all questions, we make it clear to refugees that we are a nation of laws and that they need to comply with our laws.”
“But you don’t ask them whether they would comply with that law?,” Sessions asked Henshaw. He replied, “I can’t answer that question, I don’t know.”
When Sen. Sessions asked Henshaw if they inquire if a refugee supports honor killings, Henshaw didn’t definitively answer the question. He instead pointed to a “cultural orientation program.” At least 23 refugees have been implicated in terrorism in the United States since 2010.

Hillary Failed To Take Highest Security Training At State Dept In 2009
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton failed to complete the highest level of security training mandated by the Department of State for the proper handling of the government’s most secret documents when she entered the department in 2009, according to documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation under the Freedom of Information Act.
The State Department released 46 pages of previously unseen documents Tuesday under a Sept. 20, 2016, order issued by U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon.
The judge angrily told Department of Justice attorneys to stop dragging their feet, and ordered the State Department to conduct an expedited release of all training documents sought in TheDCNF’s FOIA for Clinton and her aides by Oct. 10, 2016.
The first batch of documents were to be released Monday, but that was delayed until early Tuesday.

‘Unbelievable’ and a ‘Real Disservice’ Lester Holt Didn’t Ask About Clinton Foundation
The Republican National Committee’s Communications Director Sean Spicer tells Breitbart News it’s “unbelievable” and a “real disservice” that presidential debate moderator Lester Holt didn’t ask Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton about the Clinton Foundation’s alleged pay-to-play scheme with the Department of State during Clinton’s time as secretary of state.
“That was unbelievable you have a scandal of this magnitude that directly impacts national security and it was unbelievable that that wasn’t asked,” Spicer told Breitbart News in the spin room after Monday night’s debate. “There were so many aspects of both national security [and] pay-for-play. The idea that that didn’t get discussed or come up was sort of a real disservice.”
“He didn’t ask about her emails,” Spicer added in disbelief. “He said, ‘Is there anything you would like to add?’ I mean, it was unbelievable.”
Gov. Mike Huckabee’s daughter Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who serves as one of Trump’s senior advisers, also spoke to Breitbart News about the omission of a question about the Clinton Foundation.
“I thought Lester Holt had a really tough job tonight, but that was one of the few places I felt like he really had a couple of key issues he went after Trump on and ignored some of the big things — they called it the dirty laundry debate,” Sanders explained to Breitbart News. “Frankly, Hillary Clinton should have been asked those questions and I think it was a real problem for him tonight to go after Trump on certain things and to leave that out for her.”

Hillary Scoffs To Labor Union: I Should Be ’50 Points Ahead’ Of Trump
Hillary Clinton recently addressed the Laborers’ International Union of North America via conference call on Wednesday.
The former secretary of state opined at the LIUNA Southwest Convention in Las Vegas that she should be “50 points ahead” of Donald Trump in the polls.
“I will fight back against the so called right-to-work,” Clinton explained. “Right-to-work is wrong for workers and wrong for America.”
“Now, having said all of this, why aren’t I 50 points ahead you might ask?”
“Well the choice for working families has never been clearer,” she continued. “I need your help to get Donald Trump’s record out to everybody. Nobody should be fooled.”
Clinton stated that Trump “proudly declared himself 100 percent right-to-work.”
“He even hired a union busting firm to break up an organizing campaign at his hotel in Las Vegas where you are right now,” she explained. “He built up his wealth by stiffing small businesses and contractors. That goes against everything we stand for as a country.”
“My dad was a small businessman, and I’m just happy he never did business with Trump.”

Judge Orders Release of Clinton Security Training Docs To Begin In Five Days
A frustrated federal judge ordered the State Department to begin producing within five days hundreds of documents on whether required or recommended security training, briefings or courses were completed by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aides.
Judge Richard Leon ruled Tuesday in favor of The Daily Caller News Foundation by rejecting the State Department’s motion to dismiss TheDCNF’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit concerning production of the documents originally sought under the Freedom of Information Act. But he also denied TheDCNF’s request to depose State Department officials.
The State Department has been unable to produce any records confirming that Clinton and her top aides received mandatory annual security briefings about the proper handling of classified materials and the proper methods for conducting secure communications.
In addition to Clinton, TheDCNF seeks the same records for former Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin and Advisor Jacob Sullivan.

Clinton Foundation AIDS Program Distributed ‘Watered-Down’ Drugs To Third World Countries
Former President Bill Clinton and his Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) distributed “watered-down” HIV/AIDs drugs to patients in sub-Saharan Africa, and “likely increased” the risks of morbidity and mortality, according to a draft congressional report obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The congressional report, titled,“The Clinton Foundation and The India Success Story,” was initiated by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican and vice-chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The CHAI program to help AIDS victims is considered one of the Clinton Foundation’s most important contributions and is probably its best known initiative.
The congressional report focused on Clinton’s decade-long relationship with a controversial Indian drug manufacturer called Ranbaxy, which CHAI used as one of its main distributors of HIV/AIDS drugs to Third World countries.
It also highlighted the work of Dinesh Thakur, a former Ranbaxy employee who became a star whistleblower, permitting the U.S. government to launch a landmark lawsuit against the Indian firm. The company was vulnerable to U.S. prosecution because it also sold its generic drugs on the U.S. market.

Computer Tech Who Asked How To ‘Strip Out’ Email Addresses May Have Worked For Hillary
The computer technician who worked on Hillary Clinton’s email server appears to have asked for advice on how to “strip out” a “VIP’s” email address during a crucial period in the Clinton email timeline.
The advice was sought in a July 24, 2014 entry on the website Reddit from a user with the handle “stonetear.” The Daily Caller has confirmed that Paul Combetta, the Platte River Networks technician who worked on Clinton’s server, uses an email address with the same handle.
The FBI discovered during its investigation of Clinton’s email practices that Combetta used a software program called BleachBit to delete backups of Clinton’s emails in March 2015, just weeks after Clinton’s email operation was exposed and after Congress had subpoenaed all of her records. He was also granted immunity from the Justice Department despite lying to FBI investigators about using the BleachBit program.
In a now-deleted entry on Reddit entitled “Remove or replace to/from address on archived emails?,” “stonetear” wrote:
Hello all- I may be facing a very interesting situation where I need to strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived email that I have both in a live Exchange mailbox, as well as a PST file. Basically, they don’t want the VIP’s email address exposed to anyone, and want to be able to either strip out or replace the email address in the to/from fields in all of the emails we want to send out. CNN Edits Hillary’s Response To NYC Attack, Removes The Word ‘Bombing’
CNN edited the opening sentence of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s response to Saturday’s explosion in New York City, removing her use of the word “bombing” to describe the attack.
When Clinton came out to address the press on her campaign plane late Saturday, she opened her brief remarks by saying “I’ve been briefed about bombings in New York and New Jersey, and the attacks in Minnesota.”
But when CNN aired Clinton’s response, and posted it on Twitter, they removed Clinton’s first sentence, and instead began on her second, which emphasized support for first responders.
At the time of Clinton’s response, some in the media, including CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond, were criticizing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for allegedly jumping the gun by calling the attack a bombing before it was explicitly confirmed by authorities. In fact, Clinton’s first question from the press was on that exact topic, with a reporter asking what she thought about Trump “immediately” calling the attacks a bombing. Perhaps because she’d just use the word herself, Clinton punted on the question and avoided attacking Trump directly.

$216 Million From Clinton Foundation Donors Bought 205 Invitations to White House State Dinners
A total of 205 Clinton Foundation donors whose corporations and foundations collectively contributed $216 million since 2009, were awarded the most coveted invitations in the nation’s capital: prestigious seats at one or more White House State Dinners, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation.
At least 15 of the Clinton Foundation’s corporate donors — representing $47 million in contributions — were able to win invitations to two or more official state dinners.
Significantly, the decision makers who authorized the special invitations were not at the White House at all, but were ensconced in the Department State’s Office of Protocol. The protocol office, chosen by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are filled solely with long-time Clinton loyalists.
Despite the Democratic presidential nominee’s departure from the Department of State in 2013, all of the top officeholders in the protocol office throughout Obama’s two terms have been senior staffers who served in either former President Bill Clinton’s White House or in Hillary’s Senate and 2008 presidential campaigns.

IRS Impeachment Vote Slated To Be Pushed Back
A vote to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen expected to hit the floor Thursday has been pushed back to November after House Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte struck a deal Wednesday evening.
In exchange for the delay, Koskinen would have to testify under oath before the committee in coming days, Politico first reported.
House Freedom Caucus member Rep. John Fleming of Louisiana filed a privileged resolution Tuesday that would sidestep leadership and force a vote on the matter. Lawmakers could then opt to table the measure or send it back to the House Judiciary Committee.
Proponents of the impeachment allege Koskinen misled Congress and violated a subpoena related to the IRS targeting of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.
Leadership has been hesitant to bring a vote to the floor, citing a call to return to regular order and the importance not to diminish the gravity of impeachment process.
The GOP conference is slated to meet to discuss the matter Thursday morning.

Hillary’s Former IT Aide Defies Congressional Subpoena To Show At Clinton Hearing
Bryan Pagliano, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s former IT aide who managed her private email server, shunned a congressional subpoena to appear Tuesday at a House panel’s hearing on the Department of State’s records preservation practices.
“It’s a serious matter,” House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (HOGR) Chairman and Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz said in the hearing, facing Pagliano’s empty chair. “Mr. Pagliano has chosen to evade the subpoena.”
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform invited Pagliano, along with IT contractors from Denver-based Platte River Networks (PRN) Clinton used to host her private email server, to testify before the committee in their second of three hearings in one week on Clinton’s emails.
PRN employees Bill Thornton and Paul Combetta did show up to testify, along with Justin Cooper, a senior advisor to former President Bill Clinton who also helped with Clinton’s email server.
But Chaffetz immediately honed in on Pagliano’s noticeable absence how he “thumb(ed) his nose at the United States Congress.” Pagliano has become a central figure in the Clinton server scandal.

Chaffetz: FBI Tried To Recover 27 Clinton Emails From Congress
FBI officials have asked House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (HOGR) members to return 27 emails they gave the committee in a document dump from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s investigative file.
The FBI asked HOGR Chairman and Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz’ committee to return the emails after including them in an Aug. 17 document dump that was supposed to be identical to an Aug. 16 document — but wasn’t, according to Chaffetz.
“The problem is the second set had 27 emails more than the other one, which we were grateful for … only to have the FBI try to come back and recover those,” Chaffetz said in a Monday hearing with intelligence community officials over classifications and redactions from the FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server at the Department of State.
“Not because it was SAP (Special Access Programs) material — because it was embarrassing. That’s why. It was embarrassing. But we should have had it in the first round,” Chaffetz said.

Feds Spend Millions Fighting FOIA Lawsuits, GAO Finds
Federal agencies spend millions of tax dollars opposing Americans’ successful lawsuits seeking public records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), but can’t say exactly how much, according to a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report.
Department of Justice (DOJ) officials responsible for tracking agencies’ FOIA compliance don’t know how much agencies spent fighting 112 cases from 2009 to 2014 in which the plaintiff “substantially” prevailed, according to GAO. Of the 57 lawsuits agencies could track, agencies spent $1.8 million.
But that’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the $144 million agencies estimated they spent fighting 3,350 FOIA lawsuits from 2009 to 2014, according to GAO.
Current DOJ policy doesn’t require department officials to track spending by agencies on specific lawsuits, or whether the plaintiff or agency prevailed, leaving gaps in federal records about FOIA lawsuits, according to GAO.

Clinton Foundation Deceived IRS On Tax Exemption From The Start
Clinton Foundation officials repeatedly skirted or ignored federal laws and regulations while converting the controversial non-profit from its tax-exempt purpose of building a presidential library in Little Rock, Arkansas, into a $2 billion global machine selling political influence and access on an unprecedented scale, according to documents reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Non-profit foundations are required by the IRS to conduct activities that support the officially approved tax-exempt purpose for which the federal agency allows them to offer donors the ability to deduct contributions. Officials must report annually via the IRS Tax Form 990 to show their non-profit’s compliance with its exempt purpose.
It was during the foundation’s first six full years of existence from 1998 to 2004 when the tight-knit circle of Clinton insiders progressively mis-represented in annual tax filings the non-profit’s activities and compliance with its exempt purpose.
In the IRS’s 1997 determination letter granting exemption, the federal tax agency instructed foundation officials that to retain the prized exempt status they must inform the government if you “change your sources of support, your purposes, character or method of operation … so we can consider the effect of the change on your exempt status and foundation status.”

About That ‘SECRET’ Email Sidney Blumenthal Sent To Hillary Clinton
A memo Sidney Blumenthal forwarded to his friend Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of state contained information classified as SECRET both when he sent it and currently, the FBI’s Clinton email investigation report says.
It was already known that about two dozen of the hundreds of emails Blumenthal sent Clinton during her tenure contained classified information.
But the FBI’s report, released Friday, reveals for the first time that one of the emails contained information the government considers to have been classified as soon as it hit Clinton’s inbox.
Clinton and the State Department have downplayed the presence of classified information in her emails by pointing out that most of the information has been classified retroactively through a process called “up classification.”
“When information is reviewed for public release, it is common for information previously unclassified to be upgraded to classified if the State Department or another agency believes its public release could cause potential harm to national security, law enforcement or diplomatic relations,” reads an entry on Clinton’s campaign website defending the presence of “up classified” emails in her records.
The FBI’s report states that 24 Blumenthal memos have been identified as containing “information currently classified as CONFIDENTIAL.” But one April 23, 2010 email has been deemed to contain information that is “SECRET both when sent and currently.”

The FBI’s report states that 24 Blumenthal memos have been identified as containing “information currently classified as CONFIDENTIAL.” But one April 23, 2010 email has been deemed to contain information that is “SECRET both when sent and currently.”

Trump & the Hillarycons
In 1964, Phyllis Schlafly of Alton, Illinois, mother of six, wrote and published a slim volume entitled “A Choice Not an Echo.”
Backing the candidacy of Sen. Barry Goldwater, the book was a polemic against the stranglehold the eastern liberal establishment had held on the Republican nomination for decades.
Schlafly went on to lead the campaign to derail the Equal Rights Amendment, which, with 35 states having ratified, was just three states short of being added to our Constitution.
Pro-ERA forces never added another state. Phyllis, who, at 20 was testing weapons at a munitions plant in World War II, shot it dead.
At 92, the founder of Eagle Forum has a new book out, published by Regnery. “The Conservative Case for Trump,” co-authored by Ed Martin of Eagle Forum and Brett Decker, argues that the Donald is an authentic conservative around whom every conservative should rally.
Yet, in making their cogent case, Schlafly and her co-authors raise questions that today bedevil the movement.

Tim Kaine Can’t Defend Hillary’s Russian Reset
Democratic vice presidential nominee and Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine was not able to defend Hillary Clinton’s reset with Russia and instead pivoted to connecting Donald Trump to the Kremlin during an interview Sunday.
“Hillary Clinton was in charge with the so-called reset with Russia. Can you make an argument that it worked, given what happened in Crimea and Syria?” ABC’s Martha Raddatz asked Kaine.
The Virginia senator replied, “I don’t think you can make an argument that the relationship with Russia is in a good place right now.”
“But that’s not the U.S.’ fault, that’s Vladimir Putin’s aggressive and imperialist ambitions,” Kaine continued on to say. He then changed his focus to Trump. “Donald Trump was not even aware that Putin had gone into Crimea as recent as two weeks ago.”
“This is just one of a number of very very troubling insistences where Trump’s coziness with Putin is coziness with Russia,” Kaine said. Raddatz then cut in to focus back on the Russian reset, and showed a quote from a Polish foreign minister who said Russia viewed the 2009 reset as a sign of weakness.

TEXT: Donald Trump’s Speech In Phoenix On Illegal Immigration
Donald Trump’s campaign released the full text of his prepared remarks in Phoenix on the issue of illegal immigration. Read them here:
Thank you, Phoenix. I am so glad to be back in Arizona, a state that has a very special place in my heart.
I love the people of Arizona and, together, we are going to win the White House in November.
Tonight is not going to be a normal rally speech.
Instead, I am going to deliver a detailed policy address on one of the greatest challenges facing our country today: immigration.
I have just landed having returned from a very important and special meeting with the President of Mexico – a man I like and respect very much, and a man who truly loves his country. Just like I am a man who loves the United States.
We agreed on the importance of ending the illegal flow of drugs, cash, guns and people across our border, and to put the cartels out of business.
We also discussed the great contributions of Mexican-American citizens to our two countries, my love for the people of Mexico, and the close friendship between our two nations.
