CNBC's John Harwood maintained Wednesday evening after the third GOP debate that he wasn't wrong to accuse Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., of supporting a tax platform that benefits only the top one percent, even though he conceded earlier that this claim is not exactly accurate.
Rubio even made sure to mention that Harwood was compelled earlier this year to issue a retraction after stating that the Florida lawmaker was pushing a policy that favored the one percent.
"[Y]ou wrote a story on it, and you had to go back and correct it," Rubio said, standing his ground.
"No, I did not," Harwood laughed.
Rubio persisted, refusing to back down an inch. As it turns out, the Florida senator was correct.
Harwood most definitely admitted on social media last week that he was wrong to claim that Rubio supported a policy that favors only the one percent.
