WHAT KIND OF AMERICA DOES MAXINE WATERS WANT?

At a recent “Keep Families Together” rally in Los Angeles, Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters said, “If you see anybody from [President Trump’s] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station — you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them!”

Later, she said, “The people are going to turn on them. They’re going to protest. They’re going to absolutely harass them…”

In the halls of Congress on Monday, investigative journalist Laura Loomer shrewdly asked Waters if conservatives should sit in the back of the bus and where they should eat. Waters refused to answer the questions, swatted Loomer away with some papers in her hand and then refused to allow Loomer to enter her elite, “members-only” congressional elevator.

I truly appreciated Loomer’s insightful questions.

My question is: Does Waters wants America to return to those divisive, intolerant days, similar to when Southern Democrats routinely segregated and harassed our fellow black American citizens?

Fortunately, this time around, intolerant Democrats like Waters are not targeting Americans due to their racial heritage. Sadly, they are instead targeting them solely due to their political affiliation, no matter how loose that affiliation might be. They are denying their fellow human beings the freedom to eat a meal, purchase gasoline or watch a movie in peace. Think about that.

GOODLATTE: FBI LAWYERS INSTRUCTED STRZOK NOT TO ANSWER ‘MANY, MANY’ QUESTIONS IN DEPOSITION

FBI lawyers instructed Peter Strzok during a congressional deposition on Wednesday not to answer “many, many questions” about his involvement in the Hillary Clinton and Russia investigations, said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte.

“Unfortunately the FBI counsel in the room has instructed Mr. Strzok not to answer many, many questions, and that’s going to be a serious problem moving forward,” Goodlatte told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum. “So we will be raising questions with the FBI and the Department of Justice about why it is that their counsel is instructing Mr. Strzok not to answer questions.”

Strzok, the former deputy chief of counterintelligence at the FBI, testified for more than 10 hours about his roles in the Clinton and Trump-Russia investigations. He was also pressed about anti-Trump text messages he exchanged with his mistress, a former FBI lawyer named Lisa Page.

Strzok, who was accompanied by his personal attorney on Wednesday, was the top investigator on Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI investigation into possible collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Russian government. He served on the special counsel’s investigation until July 2017, when his text messages were discovered by the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General.

GOP CONGRESSMAN SAYS HE RECEIVED MORE DEATH THREATS IN 2017 THAN EVERY OTHER YEAR COMBINED

Republican Arizona Rep. David Schweikert says he received more death threats in 2017 than every other year he’s been in office combined.

“My fear is this is the playbook of a lot of our brothers and sisters on the left — they’re going to get fringier and fringier, louder and louder, angrier and angrier, and as you and I know, we sometimes have some folks in our society who aren’t completely healthy,” Schweikert said while appearing on “Plaidcast,” a podcast hosted by Republican Rep. Sean Duffy of Wisconsin.

“And we had more death threats last year, in my office, even one towards my little girl, than we’ve ever had in all the other years combined and my fear is that this rage that is being generated for political turnout is actually really becoming unhealthy for our political society,” Schweikert continued.

The Arizona congressman has served in Congress since 2011.

GOP LAWMAKERS INTRODUCE CENSURE MEASURE, CALL ON MAXINE WATERS TO RESIGN

Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs on Monday introduced a measure that would censure Rep. Maxine Waters and ask her to resign for inciting people to publicly confront Trump administration officials.

Biggs told The Hill that Waters’ comments do “not become somebody who’s in Congress” and warrant disciplinary action.

“So we just introduced it, we have some cosponsors, but what she did was to basically incite people to come after and attack members of the president’s cabinet,” the Arizona Republican told The Hill. “And also spread that out to more people.”

“Everybody agrees that it was just highly objectionable what she did,” he added.

The measure calls on Waters to apologize to Trump administration officials “for endangering their lives and sowing seeds of discord,” to release a statement making it clear that violence and harassment aren’t appropriate ways to protest, and finally to resign her House seat.

“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters told a gathering Saturday. “And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome any more, anywhere!”

NEW NORMAL: TRUMP ALLIES FACE HARASSMENT, PROTESTS ANYWHERE THEY SHOW THEIR FACES

  • Rep. Maxine Waters encouraged people to form mobs to protest Trump administration officials in their private lives.
  • Already, a slew of Republicans have been plagued with harassment and violent threats, creating new normal.
  • House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was nearly killed in June 2017 by a liberal gunman — and threats of violence against conservatives have increased in number and frequency.

Staffers and allies of President Donald Trump face a new normal in today’s heated political environment: the potential for harassment and protests anywhere they show their faces — both in their public and private lives.

Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters shocked political observers over the weekend by encouraging liberal mobs to harass Trump officials at restaurants, gas stations and even at home.

“Already you have members of your cabinet that are being booed out of restaurants,” We have protesters taking up at their house who are saying, ‘No peace, no sleep. No peace, no sleep,'” Waters told a liberal crowd on Saturday, pledging to “win this battle.”

“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” the congresswoman added. “And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome any more, anywhere!”

FROM THE DOSSIER TO PAPADOPOULOS, OBAMA’S STATE DEPARTMENT HAD EARLY ROLE IN TRUMP-RUSSIA PROBE

Drip by drip, details have emerged over the past several months showing the Department of State under the Obama administration played a larger role at key junctures in the Trump-Russia probe than previously known.

State Department officials obtained and reviewed parts of the infamous Steele dossier by mid-July 2016, well before FBI headquarters had access to the document. The U.S. embassy in London was also an early recipient of information about former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos that the FBI would use to justify opening its counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016. And in a little-noticed Senate hearing on Wednesday, it was revealed that dossier author Christopher Steele briefed State Department officials at Foggy Bottom in October 2016.

The briefing suggests closer contacts between Steele and the State Department than the agency has acknowledged.

Three diplomats — Victoria Nuland, Jonathan Winer and Elizabeth Dibble — appear to be key to the State Department’s role in handling Trump-related Russia information.

Nuland, who was the Obama State Department’s top Russia expert, received excerpts of Steele’s dossier in mid-July 2016, about two months before the salacious document would reportedly make its way to the FBI team investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

SOCIALIST ACTIVIST WHO HARASSED HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY WORKS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

One of the activists who chased Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen out of a Mexican restaurant Tuesday night over the Trump administration’s immigration policies is an employee of the Department of Justice, The Daily Caller News Foundation has confirmed.

Members of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America crashed Nielsen’s meal with a demonstration full of chants and other outbursts.

One of those participants, Allison Hrabar, actually works for the Trump administration — as a paralegal in the DOJ.

“Kirstjen Nielsen, you’re a villain, locking up immigrant children,” activists can be heard saying in a video.

An employee within the Trump administration initially tipped The DCNF off about Hrabar’s presence at the protest.

The Washington Examiner spoke with Hrabar Wednesday and she defended her behavior as off government time and a use of her First Amendment rights.

DOJ’S WATCHDOG: FBI REFUSING TO ALLOW ANTI-TRUMP AGENTS TO BE NAMED

The FBI has asked the Justice Department’s office of the inspector general to withhold from Congress the names of three bureau employees found to have exchanged anti-Trump text messages, including from one attorney who worked on the special counsel’s investigation.

“We went to the FBI. The FBI raised a concern because they work on counterintelligence matters, and we are working with the committee to try and get the information you’ve asked for,” Michael Horowitz, the DOJ’s inspector general, testified to Congress on Tuesday.

“So the FBI does not want their names released?” Texas Rep. Ted Poe asked Horowitz.

“Correct,” the inspector general replied.

An OIG report released on Friday identified five current and former FBI employees, including Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, as having sent anti-Trump text messages in 2016 and 2017. OIG referred all five of the officials to the FBI for disciplinary action.

The OIG report revealed for the first time that Strzok, the FBI’s top investigator on the Russia probe, told Page in an Aug. 8, 2016 text message that “we’ll stop” Trump from becoming president.

The report also identifies text messages from FBI employees referred to as FBI Attorney 2, FBI Agent 1, and FBI Agent 5 who expressed anti-Trump sentiments.

IT’S HAPPENING: THE OBAMA-HOLDER PROGRESSIVE LEFT COUNTER-OFFENSIVE

Former President Barack Obama and former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder have planned — and are leading — a massive counter-offensive to give the progressive left faction of the Democratic Party control of key state legislative bodies and state supreme courts in time for congressional redistricting after the 2020 census. If they are successful, Democrats could well control the U.S. House of Representatives for the decade of the 20s and have in place a progressive left farm team from which to draw leftist national leaders for many years beyond.

Presently, Republicans control 67 of our nation’s 99 state legislative bodies. This is near an all-time high for Republicans who have been steadily gaining majorities in every election cycle since 2010. It is the result of smart candidate recruitment, messaging better ideas for education and growing jobs and businesses, strong state leadership and a national plan and organization led by the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC).

But this could change quickly.

In recent election cycles, Republicans, Democrats and their allies have been spending roughly at parity on state legislative and judicial races across the country. The Obama-Holder led effort is on pace to exponentially outraise and outspend Republicans this November and again in 2020. Holder’s National Democratic Redistricting Committee alone already has raised its goal from $30 million to $40 million in new funds this cycle. Their targets are legislative and judicial races in about a dozen key battleground states including Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Nevada, North Carolina and Florida. Among the groups spawned to help this scheme, Forward Majority announced it would spend $100 million to spend on targeted legislative races in the same key states in the 2018 and 2020 election cycles. The Center for Popular Democracy Action announced it will raise and spend an additional $80 million mobilizing progressives and will target six state legislatures. Additional funding will continue to come from unions, trial lawyers, Planned Parenthood, George Soros, Tom Steyer and others.

IG: MCCABE USED STRZOK’S MISTRESS TO BYPASS CHAIN OF COMMAND TO MONITOR CLINTON PROBE

  • Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe used Peter Strzok’s mistress, Lisa Page, to get information on the FBI probe into investigation of Clinton’s private server
  • McCabe used Page to “circumvented the official chain of command”
  • Other bureau officials took issue with the decision

Then-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe tasked the mistress of lead agent Peter Strzok to stay appraised of the probe into Hillary Clinton’s private server — a decision that other bureau officials took issue with at the time, according to the Department of Justice Inspector General’s bombshell report.

McCabe was supposed to be insulated from the probe by two levels of management: Strzok worked for counterintelligence head Bill Priestap, who worked for national security head Michael Steinbach, who reported up to McCabe. However, Strzok communicated about the probe with his mistress, Lisa Page, who worked directly for McCabe and acted as a liaison for the Clinton investigation for the deputy director.

The report says:

‘WILLINGNESS’ TO IMPACT THE ELECTION: IG’S CLINTON REPORT IS LOADED WITH BOMBSHELLS

The Department of Justice’s internal watchdog released a much-anticipated report on the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state.

The report contained several bombshells.

Anti-Trump FBI agent showed “willingness” to impact election

Anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok showed a “willingness to take official action” to impact the presidential election, according to the new report from Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

““(Trump’s) not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” asked another anti-Trump FBI agent, Lisa Page. “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it,” Strzok replied.

Strzok’s text “is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects,” the report said.

FBI sat on Weiner emails for no good reason

When further Clinton emails were discovered on a laptop belonging to former congressman Anthony Weiner, who is married to longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin, the FBI agents overseeing her case took just under a month to take meaningful action, Horowitz’s report found.

SESSIONS SAYS MORE FIRINGS POSSIBLE FOLLOWING DOJ REPORT

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Wednesday that more firings are possible following the release of a forthcoming Department of Justice report of an investigation into the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

“If anyone else shows up in this report to have done something that requires termination we will do so,” Sessions told The Hill’s Buck Sexton.

The Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) on Thursday will release a 500-page report of an investigation into the FBI’s handling of former Secretary of State Clinton’s email investigation.

The report is expected to be heavily critical of former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Comey, who was fired on May 9, 2017, will reportedly be criticized for his public statement on July 5, 2016 announcing the closure of the Clinton email probe. Lynch will reportedly be dinged over a meeting she had with former President Bill Clinton on an airplane in Phoenix in late-June 2016.

McCabe has already been criticized by the OIG for authorizing an FBI official to leak information about the Clinton investigation to a Wall Street Journal reporter in October 2016. McCabe allegedly falsely claimed in interviews with FBI and DOJ investigators that he did not authorize the leaks.

FLASHBACK: MEDIA PREDICTED NOKO SUMMIT WOULDN’T HAPPEN

President Donald Trump just concluded a historic summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un — a summit that many in the media predicted would never happen.

Some members of the media actually gave Trump credit for his desire to negotiate peace between the two countries, but others pessimistically predicted that the president would never even get the chance to sit down with Kim Jong Un.

Some, such as MSNBC contributor George Will, mocked the idea of the summit and derisively said on March 22 that it’s “not going to happen.”

Other media figures agreed that the summit was highly unlikely to occur.

Trump himself conceded that the summit may not work out on May 22, and then canceled it entirely on May 24. While Trump seemed determined to reschedule the meeting, the mood from media critics was very “I told you so.”

TRUMP SMACKS TRUDEAU — ‘GONNA COST HIM A LOT OF MONEY’

President Donald Trump took a shot at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a press conference in Singapore to discuss his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“Justin probably didn’t know Air Force One has 20 televisions and I see the television, a news conference about how he will not be pushed around by the united States. Push him around? We just shook hands. It was very friendly … ” Trump said. Trump referenced his decision not to sign a joint communiqué after the prime minister’s press conference saying they would impose reciprocal tariffs if the U.S. followed through on its pledge.

The president defended his relationship otherwise with Trudeau saying, “I have a good relationship with Justin Trudeau … He learned that [tariffs] will cost a lot of money for the people of Canada, you can’t do that. We had a very good relationship.”

NAVARRO GOES SCORCHED EARTH ATTACKING TRUDEAU OVER COMMENTS ON TRUMP — ‘SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL’

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro blasted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a Sunday interview for his negative comments towards President Donald Trump.

“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door,” Navarro said to Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” “And that’s what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference.”

Navarro’s comments come as Trudeau criticized Trump after he left the G7 summit, saying that Canada would retaliate if the U.S. does not remove the recently implemented tariffs. Trudeau trashed Trump’s decision to place tariffs on steel and aluminum from U.S. allies, calling it “insulting.”

“I highlighted directly to the president that Canadians did not take it lightly that the United States has moved forward with significant tariffs on our steel and aluminum industry,” Trudeau said in a Saturday speech. “Particularly, [they] did not take lightly that it’s for a national security reason that for Canadians, who stood shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers in far off lands in conflicts from the First World War onward, it’s kind of insulting.”

Navarro called Trudeau’s decision “one of the worst political miscalculations” in modern Canadian history, saying all Trudeau had to do was “take the win.”

DOJ EXPECTED TO INDICT EX-SENATE INTEL STAFFER IN LEAK PROBE

The Department of Justice is expected to indict a former staffer on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence over an unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.

CNN and The Wall Street Journal report that the indictment will be handed down within days. The staffer has not been identified, though The Journal reported that he is 31 years old and has worked for both Democrats and Republicans.

The Senate quietly passed a resolution on Wednesday to provide information for the case to the Justice Department.

“The Select Committee on Intelligence has received a request from the Department of Justice for records pertinent to a pending investigation arising out of allegations of the unauthorized disclosure of information by a former employee of the Committee,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement for the congressional record on Wednesday.

It is not clear if the information is classified or whether it is related to the committee’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign.

FACEBOOK, AMAZON, GOOGLE AND TWITTER ALL WORK WITH LEFT-WING SPLC

  • The Southern Poverty Law Center helps Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter determine what organizations are “hate groups”
  • Amazon gave the SPLC the most direct authority while pretending to remain unbiased
  • The SPLC has been plagued by inaccuracies
Four of the world’s biggest tech platforms have working partnerships with a left-wing nonprofit that has a track record of inaccuracies and routinely labels conservative organizations as “hate groups.”

Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter all work with or consult the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in policing their platforms for “hate speech” or “hate groups,” a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

The SPLC is on a list of “external experts and organizations” that Facebook works with “to inform our hate speech policies,” Facebook spokeswoman Ruchika Budhraja told The DCNF in an interview.

Facebook consults the outside organizations when developing changes to hate speech policies, Budhraja said, noting that Facebook representatives will typically hold between one and three meetings with the groups.

DNC LEADERSHIP SPLIT BETWEEN PERSONAL PURSUITS, PARTY DUTIES

When Tom Perez campaigned for the Democratic National Committee chair in December 2016, he distinguished himself from Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison by arguing that he would devote all his time to helping the party recover from its disastrous performance in the 2016 elections.

Perez at the time described the DNC position as a “full-time job” and emphasized the need “to have someone committed here for the long haul” leading the party.

Fast-forward 18 months and Perez is the DNC chair, Ellison is his number two, and they both have divided their time between personal pursuits and working for the cash-strapped DNC.

Ellison on Tuesday filed to run for attorney general of Minnesota in November and expressed enthusiasm at the opportunity to take on President Donald Trump.

MUELLER MOVES TO REVOKE MANAFORT’S BAIL FOR ALLEGED WITNESS TAMPERING

In a remarkable filing, special counsel Robert Mueller asked a federal judge in Washington, D.C. Monday to reconsider the terms of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s bail, claiming investigators found evidence he was tampering with witnesses.

The motion alleges that Manafort contacted two unnamed associates in February and April who acted as intermediaries between him and a group of pro-Ukrainian European officials referred to in the filing as the “Hapsburg group” in order “to secure materially false testimony.”

“Manafort’s obstructive conduct — carried out at a time when he was seeking relief from his current conditions of release — instills little confidence that restrictions short of detention will assure Manafort’s compliance with the court’s orders and prevent him from committing further crimes,” the motion reads.

Manafort is said to reached one of the individuals by cellphone on Feb. 23, and established contact by encrypted device the following day. Phone records show he made additional attempts at contact throughout late February. The individual told investigators he understood the overture to be an effort to induce perjury.

WHAT’S UP WITH IMMIGRATION IN CONGRESS?

  • Republicans tried and failed to pass immigration reform, leading Democrats to shutdown the government in an attempt to pass amnesty for Dreamers
  • A group of moderate Republicans are teaming with Democrats to force a vote on Dreamers in exchange for border wall funding
  • Conservative Republicans who voted against the farm bill to push a vote on a comprehensive immigration compromise appear unwilling to back down

Congress returns to Washington on Monday after a week long recess and many members have one issue at the forefront of their mind — immigration.

The defining policy issue of the 2016 election cycle, immigration is already shaping up to the be the key policy platform for the Republican Party. The topic is drawing stark contrasts and battle lines between Republican and Democratic candidates for the House and Senate.

Republicans have run in excess of 14,000 campaign ads on television and radio outlining an immigration plan similar to President Donald Trump’s administration leading up to November.

Yet, despite the party’s best efforts and having control of both chambers of Congress and the White House, the GOP is have a tough time finding unity as some Republicans are defecting from the party-line, siding with Democrats and leveraging a petition to force leadership’s hands into bringing a bill to protect between 620,000 – 800,000 young illegal immigrants

Imran Awan Allegedly Tried ‘To Hide His Money’ While DOJ Negotiates With Him

  • Former Democratic IT staffer Imran Awan allegedly tried to “hide his money” recently.
  • Awan’s lawyer claims his client “does not have a pot to piss in.”
  • Awan is currently under FBI investigation over “unauthorized access” House servers and is indicted on charges of bank fraud.

Embattled former Democratic IT aide Imran Awan has as recently as weeks ago attempted to get someone to create an LLC to hide the ownership of real estate, and two people to buy a $40,000 gold bar for him, sources told The Daily Caller News Foundation. This while his lawyer has told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Imran “doesn’t have a pot to piss in.”

“He is totally unable to work and does not have a pot to piss in,” Imran attorney Chris Gowen wrote in a Feb. 27 email to The DCNF.

Imran, who along with wife Hina Alvi worked as a server administrator for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has been the target of an FBI investigation since the House Inspector General alleged in September 2016 that he made “unauthorized access” to House servers and systematically falsified congressional financial records. Prosecutors have charged Imran and Alvi with bank fraud related to a House retirement account and a mortgage after the FBI said Imran impersonated his wife and initiated a $300,000 wire transfer to Pakistan, claiming it was for a funeral.
