Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton conceded the authenticity of several private speech transcripts that were leaked Friday and reveal her saying various unsavory things.
During Sunday’s debate, Clinton was asked about a statement she made to the National Multifamily Housing Council in which she emphasized the need to have separate “public” and “private” positions on each political issue.
Rather than dispute the quote, or claim it was taken out of context, Clinton accepted she made the remarks and claimed they were no big deal.
“As I recall, that was something I said about Abraham Lincoln after having seen [Lincoln,] the wonderful Steven Speilberg movie,” Clinton said. “It was a master class watching President Lincoln get the Congress to approve the 13th Amendment … That was a great, i thought a great display of presidential leadership.”
