Steven Mnuchin, President-elect Donald Trump’s national finance chairman during the election, is expected to be named secretary of the treasury, The New York Times reported Wednesday.
Mnuchin has a long history in banking, having served as chairman of Dune Capital Management, a hedge fund he founded in 2002. He spent 17 years working at Goldman Sachs, in addition to working at Soros Fund Management and co-founding OneWest Bank Group.
In addition to working on Wall Street, he also has a history in Hollywood, financing major blockbusters like “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “X-Men.”
The job offer likely won’t come much as a surprise, as he’s previously hinted he would likely work in the administration.
